Driver and staff retirements are back in iGP Manager!

There was some warning put out on social media to renew contracts before this came in. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get such insights before updates are launched.

They retire based on a combination of morale levels and age. So it's a "how long is a piece of string?" question which is hard to answer. But I can tell you that no matter how good their morale, at 75 staff will retire and at 40 for drivers. That is the hard cut-off point.

The staff who were instantly in "retirement mode" after the update were likely retiring before the new iGP launched. They didn't just decide to retire after the update was applied, because if they did, you would have received a mail notifying you. If the retirement icon just appeared out of the blue then it is probably that they have been in retirement status since the old iGP.

Sorry, I can't go around providing support all the time for every individual situation like this. There are over 40,000 users, and if I do this I will never get any development done.

See if you can find a replacement, and let me know if you can't. I can work on improving the market.

@Jack : Considering how the market works currently I doubt that was the best idea to introduce retirements so early at least regarding staff for the following reasons :

In all leagues I'm in, a lot of people have difficulties to find decent staff (4.5+), this is especially true for high level teams (15+) but also for low level teams (I tested a rookie one). It personally took me 20 days of everyday searches (2/3 times a day) to find a 4.5 stars CD after I reached lvl 16 (previous CD dropped to 4 stars). Here is an example in league chat but more than that we're mostly speaking about it during races :

Density is about equal : 30/35% for each kind of staff but this is not the same regarding quality and the problem is coming from there. TDs are the only staff you can hope to find at 5 stars with a bit of luck or at 4.5 stars easily, DRs are "a hell" to find and I've personally never seen a 5 stars DR for months. Finally, the most important part comes from CDs, even if their quality is not that far from TDs they have weaknesses and this is almost impossible to find a decent CD without a crippling weakness.

I personally thought to remove weaknesses from CDs in order to give us a better time to find them. Kevin Bissell also suggested the possibility to train staff like we do for drivers or at least to allow them to passively improve their skills in our team. If I'm not wrong this is already the situation and staff skills passively improve : exp after a number of races and morale (linked to the HQ facility) but talent is fixed and all of this is not enough to keep staff in our team for more than 1 level.

Why not to change the fixed talent to a real skill which can be improved ? After a number or succeeded objectives for example. That would give objectives more importance and staff a way to improve and stay in our teams for a little bit longer. What is sure is we really need some changes regarding the staff market, because if it was really tough to find staff in the past I don't even imagine how it will be in the future with the new retirement feature. Retirements are not bad themselves and are needed for more realism but the staff market is not ready for it.

Driver and staff retirements are back in iGP Manager!

Jack i dont think it was a good idea to bring it back cause everyone gonna start panicking maybe test it for a month then if it isnt working then you shuould remove it.

and please change some of the the CD's Strong and Weakness. Mix them up some more. some of you 4.5 star CD's have the same strength and weaknesses.

agreed, and some way to change them would be perfect. i don't know, train them somehow, i don't care, maybe using tokens (i know what everybody think about this but, i like the game to be free and this tokens system could be the answer, ppl buying tokens makes the game free for everyone at the moment).

also, like i suggested <a href="https://igpmanager.com/forum-thread/6768"> specialized facility thread</a>
we could have one specialized staff, it's a free slot to hire any specialized staff with different possibilities.
- extra CD (helps CD)
- agent (helps find good drivers)
- personal trainer (helps training)
- constructor (helps speed headquarters upgrades)
- tyre's specialist (helps with tyres info or tyre wear)
... and many others we all can imagine.

cheers

First of all i have nothing against retirements.
I don't know if there is a problem of work time as few working in game or is another matter that market a bit back.
The point as joey said will be hard to get new staff as it.
I know that the database will be huge if we just add staff on market and have to clear up a bit maybe before we do so. Maybe we start with drivers only for now?
As we go high on levels maybe should be less good staff for hire as it is in real few are Top.
Maybe can make a generator according to teams.
For example there are 100 teams that racing (not those out of leagues) 19-20 level we can have 150 CD in game with those levels with mixed stats and 75 TD & DR as those don't have extra attributes. The generator could keep up according to changes every week for example.

Thanks in advance.

yes, i think we all agreed. it's really hard to get new staff so, everything making that harder is not very welcome.
I also know retirements have to be part of the game.

if i have to choose what's first, ok i'll choose new staff, rather than retirements but, won't make a huge diff if more changes are coming soon so, i can wait ;)

Drivers & staff from the old iGP who still had a retirement status in the database are what caught everyone out, myself included. With this update many staff "suddenly" appeared to be retiring in the GUI, although that retirement status had existed in the database for months. It wasn't intentional that anybody would have staff on retirement status the moment the update launched. They were supposed to be able to renew the contract at least before anything like that would happen, giving them at the very least 50 races of notice in effect. I didn't anticipate that and it was an oversight on my part.

Also, I've just patched the transfers page so it won't show retired staff. That was a bug but a very easy one to address.

As for the market in general, I guess I'm going to have to prioritise improving it now and put some other things on the backburner. Every cloud has a silver lining, as they say. I will see what improvements I can come up with in the next few days. It's now my top priority to get more 4-5 star options showing, but it might take up to a week to get it in place.

High level staff availability is a growing problem especially when trying to take the fight to other teams. Obviously having multiple staff retiring across many many managers around the same time is only going to make the problem worse in the market so its great to know that this is a priority for you Jack cheers! I agree with you Dan I'd love to see specialized staff and also bonus traits included with staff.

@jack. Not fair. You gave him the chief designer with 5stars. What about me? I saved money and tockens to get that CD. Thats not how an admin. should behave.
