I think there should be regulations.I have some ideas about it:
1.Refueling ban
2.Drivers must use 2 different set of tires
3:Points penalty or time penalty add to drivers if they use only 1 set of tires in dry condition
4:Managers must use their own money to get team's suppliers for the whole season.
That's all I can think of.

1. What does this really accomplish?
2. This has been discussed ad nauseum. It won't change the racing
3. Another layer of coding. Why require 2 compounds of tires in a race only to allow people not to have to use 2 different compounds and then punish them?
4. Own money? As in real money or game currency?

1.That will make the teams have strategy changing mid-race and no problem doing that
2.No Its important because the teams keep using SS all race every races with fast lap time
3.Try to think that the fastest car on the grid using the fastest tire with 100 design points of tyre economy.That would be unfair

Whilst i have also floated the 'two compound' idea before, i don't really see the value in the other suggestions.

Regarding the use of supers all the time, it is often the quickest way to complete a race (even by adding in more pit stops), but if you have the two compound rule you will probably just end up with everyone doing the exact same strategy anyway, just on two compounds. It probably doesn't make the racing and results much different - its something we have seen in the league i am racing in.

Yeah, forcing teams to use two different compounds would lead to one stint on S and rest on SS, so nothing would really change. The thing is, if there's an optimal way of doing things, people will find it and use it.

Optimal way would be to use a calculator, imagine tyres get slow after 60%

SS 12% wear = 5laps stints
S 8% wear = 8lap stints
M 5% wear = 12 lap stints
H 3% wear = 20 lap stints

Would help if i used one lol

ss 6laps 72% wear
s 9laps 72% wear
m 14 laps 70% wear
h 23laps 69% wear

Now add in tyres wear less the longer they run
The more fuel you use the slower you go lowing tyre wear
Higher push level increases tyre wear
Add in the weather 56 lap race 10°C/50°F


I don't think SS would be the way to go.

Re point # 2 Duc, our league's race in Bahrain which you participated in was won on a 2 stop strategy using S tyres all the way. That strategy beat all the guys on SS. So it's not that simple that SS is always fastest.

There are lots of variables, and the best managers are those who can observe all the variables and use that info to make the best strategies - often needing to change the strategy mid-race as I did to win that race - I saw the SS wasn't working as well as expected and changed my stints to use the S. My pre-race race plan had stints on SS all set. This game is quite nuanced and rewards both analytical thinking and play, and keen observation.

You can learn an awful lot by observing the races and the winning strategies, and reverse engineering the wins then applying that knowledge to your own team.

Also - we're all going to lose a whole lot more races than we win. And that's as it should be, it's a competition that's keenly contested.

I agree with Matt there. I just want to add that on most tracks it's winter time right now so the temps are lower which is helping the SS tyres especially on lower leveled teams. Plus I noticed that a lot of teams are playing it safe and you can't do much wrong with soft compounds and light cars especially if everyone else does the same anyway whilst you easily can shoot your cars out of the competition with harder compounds and heavy cars if you don't know when and how it will work.

What might be usefull here would be a more meaningfull training session. That one quick lap is not helping much in getting info about weight and for harder compounds. You have to get that by observing races, but only your own is often a bit vague as well with a team that still is progressing quite fast and with watching the ones of others your lacking some information/values. Which means watching a lot of races. I think this clashes with the overall theme of the game of keeping it simple and easy enough to understand so here a bit less simple training could help a lot for easier understanding.

Daniel I think being able to set a fuel level for practice laps would help solve that issue. It also gives another layer of thinking for race strategy planning.

Well I would hace observed everything but the problem with me is the lack of time that I am free to attend the races because I have to go to school and with that problem the other teams that are better than me that can't attend the race can beat me just like Indospeed in my league just use the SS the whole race at monaco and beat me by a landslide

Well, Monaco is a track that really seem to require super softs. With most other tracks it doesn't make that much a difference. If the strategy is not way off, e.g. running tyres completely into the ground or having a ton of fuel where it really hurts, it's a few seconds difference. If someone wins by a landslide it wouldn't matter if you had the same strategy.

Maybe for high level teams. As it stands now the only thing I can get out of single quick laps is that my drivers are quite unable to produce consistent lap times there. Of course you can get general trends but I'd need 3 runs for anything that makes a difference of less than half a second which means I'm not getting far with 5 runs total. It might be quite possible already to set fuel level, like it is possible to set push, by changing it in strategy though.

Just check Monaco iGP Elite rank at Aussie F1 -2 car and you will see my problem that everybody except my team kept using the same compound the whole race

But Duc, SS is the fastest tyre there, and all the managing in the world won't make your drivers faster on the slower tyre. To be blunt, only you are to blame for losing out in that situation. It's not a fault in the game.

You can view the race results at your leisure after the races are complete and see what tyres and pit stop strategy your competition ran. Most of us work/study - that's why the results are able to be viewed later. Study these, it's a help.

It's up to you to practice, figure out the fastest race strategy your team is capable of, and get that result.

FYI - This is my 7th or so season in Elite, and I have just won my first Elite race. Be patient, persevere, you will get there. It takes time.

Wait until we get a hot race in Bahrain - nobody will go near the SS or even the S tyre in those conditions. ;)
