Question: KERS lap times

Does having KERS lower your lap times in the race?

I'm not a subscriber (yet) and so will rely on the automatic KERS setting when I get it, and wanted to know if there is any benefit to lap times during the race.

I've noticed that my driver always seems to qualify a lot better than she finishes, and suspected it could be because other cars had KERS and were able to run faster in the race than me. I'm a lvl 5 and don't have KERS yet (but I do have DRS).

No, KERS does not effect your lap times in a negative way.
There are several reasons why someone looses places in race. Think about the strategy (push hard, push, consistency, take it easy, ease off).

So, you're saying that unless you're a subscriber it's not worth getting KERS...?

no your drivers will use kers to defend them self if set to automatic. might lower your lap times ever so slighty but noting to crazy. being a subscriber just allows you to use it when you want aswell. it is worth getting if you have bought drs y wud having kers not be a worth while aswell?

Right - I think I understand.

KERS won't be used as it is in F1 every lap to reduce your laptimes. It is solely used (in automatic mode) when attacking and defending positions.

yeah pretty much. you have a ruffly one full laps worth sometimes less somtimes more depends on the track. but defo get it or you will just get mugged.
