Indianapolis 2005. All Michelin Teams decided to drive into the pit at the beginning of the race. Only 3 Teams drove more than one lap. But the first 8 driver got points.
I don't see why he shouldn't get points for that. He was the only one who competet in the race and therefore he got his reputation.
Example: in my race yesterday I got unlucky with one driver, who ran out of fuel from the lead of the race (30 drivers on the grid). My other driver won the race. Result?
-6 reputation. Now here's someone who's starting a race with a trashed car on an empty grid and who's not driving a single lap. He gets
+20 reputation for that? So far the reputation seems to work perfectly, but in my opinion this is a situation that needs a little attention and - again, in my opinion - should be an exception to the rules.
As for the comparison with Indianapolis 2005: are you really comparing race points with reputation points? Anyway, according to formula1.com, only teams that finished the race were given points.. (6 cars).
