Can anyone tell me how the hek you are meant to know what level of water is on track at any time for practice? Even if you spectate it still is wrong compared to "your" track, mm do not show the same? How are you meant to set up - the weather is a major part of F1 and yet we have practically no information for practice/setup? Shows dry on "weather" but track has ?mm of water, as it has stopped raining in ?minutes ago. Shows raining, but don't know the mm of rain or if to use I or W tyres? Needs sorting out. Impossible to race or sort strat with no info.

3 practice laps just before lock down, 1 on slicks, 1 on Inters and 1 on wets will give you a good idea. But I agree this is not an ideal solution, it would be much better if the game actually showed current weather conditions and water level.

This is something that frustrates me to no end. Trying to guess the status of the track by the icons has proven completely futile so far. I have tried spectating but as mentioned above it doesn't necessarily correlate, particularly in practice.
I say the following totally cognisant that its all part of the challenge and a manner for the devs to sell tokens; however 3-5 laps is generally required to nail down your setup. Now take into account you have 4 dry compounds and 2 wet compounds to work with, there is no possibility of obtaining accurate data across the spectrum to make an appropriate assessment for the race ahead.
I do like the live weather aspect, but the information needs to be much much more detailed, forecasts should provide a % chance of *mm worth of rain, or as most weather services do, break down the chance of rain and likely weather to hourly blocks. Then, instead of a rain cloud or other such icon, I can cross reference my GMT time, to the local track time and observe that at the green light, there will be a 5% chance of 1mm of rain.
The flow on effect means that I can again cross reference and plan for when to do my Practice runs on which compounds.
