Some really good bits in the updates and so on.. Still a little dissapointed in the free 2 play system in not having tyre temps or fule gauge per lap...

I know it will sound like a moan but at the end of the day, it is advertised as a Free 2 Play game.

Personally, I'de like to see the paid people with added extras instead of the advantage on the track..

Paid people should get extras like -

10% On design development acceleration.
-10% on cost of parts.
+5 stats on each drivers health after each race.
1 or 2 extra slots for adverts.
Maybe an extra person on the staff side thats for accounts only.

and so on...

as they get more money from the game (a lot saying that money is easy to gain) how about paid accounts are the only ones allowed to buy a test driver.....

It's all them kind of things the paid guys should get.. Once your on the track, it's then a 50/50 race about car build / driver and strategy..

Just an idea...

The laptime thingy has disappeared

We've temporarily disabled it until it is safe to enable it again. I expect it may take a couple of days at least to fix the underlying issue. It was causing connection problems earlier with live races.

I agree with Sonny 100%.
i've had my sub for three maybe four months now, and had it for a reason to gain  an advantage in one way or another, be it on the track or off it.

After Q1 Myself and the few friends i've talked with all share the same outlook as to why we are still going to pay for this game.
I mean livery builder is the only real benifit of having premuim, other than to view some 2d Dots go around the track.
Why should we all contiune to pay for it jack? What are we getting out of our 5 pounds a month?

*snip*.

I really like this. This gives incentive to pay, and grants you bonuses and shortcuts while not undermining the key part of this game, the races. While I appreciate giving free users a minumum set of controls, they are pretty much useless in static weather conditions. No sense in giving fuel control when you have no idea how much is in the tank, and you don't know if your tires are fried until your lap times skyrocket.

Your idea would move this more towards a League of Legends style "pay for bonuses" model instead of an APB "pay to win" model.

I love that you managed to fit League Of Legends in you're post. Mumu FTW.
Anyway, numerous ways around not subscribing, like createing a new account every three days, sending you're self a link to the race and getting everything you need to manage without 2D.
If i had wrote this game, subscription people would gain the following for there 60 pounds a year.
[list]
[*]Enhanced Training For Drivers ( Ability to train at a higher rate of speed than "Free Users")
[*]Enhanced Development Speed ( I'm not talking 10% Additional, perhaps as low as 2% each part per design report)
[*]Ability to Test Setups in a more rigourous style, ability to run more laps prior to qualifying
[*]More customization Options, custom skins , driver avatars, custom usertitle text
[/list]

I don't feel we need so much of a track advantage, that field should be level when it comes to raceday, but i bthink you'd convert allot of the free to play people, into payed users if you had a more attractive package.

Just my two cents.

I think it is great that everyone is chipping in with their ideas about what would be best for the game.
It must give the devs a huge amount of ideas with what is popular and what isn't - especially if someone suggests something and everyone else disagrees!

There are probably some ideas that are really quite small and easy to impliment but that adds real value to the playing experience.
So if you are sitting there with an idea do share it - it might be something nobody else has thought of.

The post was a way on how to get new members into the game and keep them in the game.. Thats the main issues with these kind of games.. People turn up, use the 2d trials and never come back..

The question is why...

I think it's because the base game is EXCELLENT... Seriously a superb idea with some sweet touches..

The main issues around the foums are..

Paid players feeling they don't get value for money.

Free players thinking that the 2D is a crazy advantage and watching times on a screen for over an hour isn't fun.....

So then you NEED a different way of doing things...

To keep the free 2 play players in the game, then give them the 2D.. Full lot.. Not 1 bit changes from the ones the paid players get now...

Paid Accounts get a million of added extras, like the post above.... (Needs a full list of ideas)

This way everyone is a winner... The free 2 play get some toys to play with and it's 10 times better and will keep them coming back over and over... The paid accounts get a load of bonus material for their cars / teams / drivers and so on, so thats them happy as well...

The main thing after that then is the going back to the free 2 play members who will then see that getting a month now and then is far more value for money and more likely to put their hands in their pockets.

""

No point in quoting the whole thing, to an extent i agree with you, where we or someone has to agree is where the line is drawn

2D was for subscribers only, and txt only was just that [people asked for more control]
now with the txt you have pretty much the same controls as 2d but without the track view [people want track view now]

give every1 2d, and give paid accounts extra's then every1 will moan that its still unfair and they want that for free as well + depending on what the extra's were whats to stop you signing up for 1month, setting up/buying all the "extra's" then not sub-ing again

For the record, i would not be against giving every1 2d PROVIDED that as a subscriber i gained a lot more over non subscribers [including race related [faster design/more training/make more money/3rd driver etc] but then people would moan that i had an unfair advantage... or give FREE 2D for x amount of days or until you get promoted from rookie and from then out, if you like it pay for it,

Right now i pay to watch 2d [and to fund future development] and since the Q1 patch IMO the perks of being a subscriber are much lower now than they were pre-patch {in reality i have manual kers use, livery designer & 2d view of the race.... compared to a list as long as my arm pre-patch... & people are still moaning lol}and should there be any vote or discussion i would be STRONGLY AGAINST any other increases or such for free members until subscribers gained a lot more

As they say You can't please all of the people all of the time

Yep, I like those ideas too. Fits in the picture of high and low budget teams we have in real F1 as well..

I noticed that the Q1 update said:
Live Chat and Live Controls for all - All users, free and subscribed, may now enjoy live racing and react to situations as they occur in real-time, balancing the playing field for everyone
so is that saying everyone can use the 2D whenever they want?

No. Free users only have access to the live timing and some controls to accompany it.

This page paints a more accurate picture of how they compare:

I assume that it was the addition of the live timing people to the 2D chat which means that this now no longer works before the race starts. If this can be restored so that chat works in the five minutes before the race start that would be great, since that's often one of the most sociable times of the race - or at least it used to be.

+1 to this, you can join chat in 2d, but it doesnt work until the race starts [as i'm pretty sure thats when the chat loads in the "txt only" timings]

That may be the case, but it was unintentional. We'll be releasing an update in a few days (Thursday most likely) that fixes a lot of these little problems now that the big ones are out of the way.

I'm on the live timing right now and I can't see any controls whatsoever?
