Something missing in the weather forcast before the race.

What is wanted is a standing water depth on the track as well as the weather during the practice sessions.
If its raining you do not know how much water there is on the track like it does during the race. So you don't know which wet tyres to pick for the practice laps.
Also more important, when it has just turned dry from a rain spell and you log in, you don't know if there is still any standing water on the track as you did not know there was rain just before you logged in.
This is putting me off playing the game which I would otherwise enjoy.

So please lets have a how much water is standing on the track during the practice sessions.

You can just watch a race in another league with the race viewer you know.

This is a feature that has been requested a number of times since the new game was launched.
There is a work around that can give you an indication of how much water is on the track. Run three practice laps, one on SS, one on inters and one on full wets. If the slicks produce the fastest lap the track is dry, inters fastest means wet track but water level below approx. 3 mm, wets fastest means above approx. 3 mm of water.
This will indicate which tyres are most likely to be correct for qualifying. Where it all gets a bit confusing is when the weather changes between lock down and the race starting. Then you need to have worked out how best to use the advanced strategy, and in my opinion you can only make it work properly if you attend the race.

Thats just going to waste 3 practice laps, which leaves you to get the best setup on just 2 practice laps.
Watching the race from another league is all well and good IF the weather is the same for the same track that you are doing the practice on. I have done this and its been raining on the track where the race is and I switched back to my track and it says it is dry and sunny. So something is wrong there.

You're a level 5 manager with 12 races experience, please don't dismiss the help that more experienced managers are offering. Make a note of the ideal settings this season, they'll be the same next season. So if you already know the ideal settings you're not wasting 3 practice laps.

Also if you are in a 2 car league, it is 3 runs out of 10 because both cars have 5 practice laps each.

Also, if the inters are slower than the slicks then no need to test the full wets. So only 2 runs are used.

people, the guy is right. Why do we have to guess how much water is there. Really anoying and stupid

Wny not add aveature that says ifits lkkelh to dry during the race, dont have to say when but gpro gives a % and a times ale for weathef.

0-30 mins rain 20%
31-1hr rain 10%

And so on and you can try to work out if its going to stop/ rain and whdn in each race, offers more strategy options.

Maybe because in real life you don't really know too? You can't just watch from your pitbox and say, aaah, 2.1 mm on track!

I would advise you to listen to what Kevin is saying.
Even if you are using your 3 laps to find out the weather levels you can still adjust your setups to find the right one while testing tyres.

The best bit of advice in there is to keep notes of your setups from each race. Even if you change drivers, they very rarely require a change of more than 1 or 2 clicks in either direction(for dry races).

I do agree that a better weather indicator is probably needed instead of the little cloud when it is raining(im probably more interested in the weather icon being in sync with the actual weather) but giving an exact percentage or precise millimetre level is taking it a bit far.

Weather accuracy seems to have dropped off since the last update. Monza as an example. Raining for 8 hours last night. All weather stations said rain including wunderground. Why pick on Monza? My sister lives there and it was raining. So the game said it was dry. Rained for 20 mins and then stopped.

Either the weather needs to be accurate or weather needs to be randomised.

Before anyone says it. I know the relying on real weather can be risky. But a cut and dry solution would provide greater clarity even if it is an accepted delay.

I agree with Baz and Adam weather needs to be sorted. Adam's suggestion for random weather would be the best way to go.
