What happens between seasons in terms of money, due to several rookie mistakes at start of my first season im not getting the money i need & i've spent far to much money and am very low on cash and obviuosly you only get sponsor money after each race and prize money etc, and obviously not going to get that during 2 or 3 wk break between seasons so do you still have to keep paying the staff and other expenditure etc because i will probably go into the red during the winter break if thats the case, so just wondered how that all works in terms of money in that gap between seasons?
I've been trying to get general expenditure down with lower contracts but i stupidly extended them for like 28 races at the start of the year on the much lower amount that i realised you could get at the time. And big contacts with drivers & staff & signing on fees. then i just got trigger happy and brought the drs and spent most of the last of my money then realised 2day about gap between season, im hoping i will make enough to start actually making money rather than losing it b4 then.
but if that is the case do i need to change league as soon as this one finishes and go into another 1 that starting earlier or already started in an emergency???
The other thing is our league has 3 races a wk which i quite like but others have 7 races a wk which i imagine enables you to progress quicker & earn money quicker, so another question is what happens if i leave the league im in when the season finishes, anything, do keep the same car development that ive been doing for next season? financial penalty?
Thanks.

Also how much does all the other staff that you cant see cost each race, not the chief designers & engineers etc but all the designers, mechanics, engineers cost, you can only see how much it costs to hire more or sack some etc, im level 4 with 160 staff members?

Staff/Drivers are paid per race and not per day, The 160 staff are effectively free [you only pay when you want to change the amount/department]
To answer your question regarding leagues: if your losing money just now racing 3 days a week, you will effectively lose money twice as fast if you race 7 days a week [as income/expenditure only applys per race] best bet would be to try and get your finances in order asap and start making a profit
If you change leagues after the season has finished there is no penaltys [and car % will stay the same] if you leave during a season you will have a 10% of finance penalty as well as car changes which will be detailed before you leave]

There are ways to help yourself get out of the situation as well, for example, you could sell some facilities that perhaps aren't necessary at the moment (I realise there are only a few) in order to make sure you have some spare cash.
Once you've done that, you can then focus on using that money to pay your staff and also change parts on your car, so that you can remain competitive. Because without that money, you won't be able to change parts on your car, and you'll eventually end up retiring from each race, meaning no money whatsoever :)
For future reference: It's all well and good buying new toys like DRS and KERS, as well as new facilities and employing better drivers, but if you don't have enough money after that to race, then there's no point having them at all :P

Ah so money is frozen basically untill the start of the next season unless buying facility's etc and i hope i should have sorted it enough to start making money if only it small amount if i take all the facility's that ive brought then after that ive only lost a little mil or 2, the changing leagues thing was just a question for it staff wages carried on in off season etc, as that doesnt happen im happpy where i am, i just need to get more sporsorship, i signed the contacts on the standard amount when i started i wasnt sure i was going to get into it so wasnt really paying attension same with engine paying maxium amount, same with driver paying well over there standard price just to make sure i got them and and with designers, doctor etc, going up and down with staff like a yoyo thinking ive got 50 million who cares and ive been paying for it ever since its cost me prob 15 million, now ive got really into it wish i had taken it seriuosly at the start.!

And i cant change driver to get a worse one with a lower wage because i cant afford the signing on fee even for the worst driver, and i cant re negoiate my current driver's contact to a lower wage so im stuck on that front. but im hoping i should be alright, ill find out after the next race.

Good luck Gary
I made all those mistakes too when i started but if you renegotiate your sponsors - even if you only get a little bit more - you can eventually start making money.
Renegotiate the suppliers too so you can pay less.
In the manufacturing facilities put the level down to the lowest as well.
If you are really stuck and you are in a two car league I think you can get rid of one driver (not too sure about that though!!) but then if you only have one driver you can't make as much money either.
You might get by on fewer support staff too as you are not going to have the money to fit lots of parts at the same time.
Getting a cheaper designer and director would help too - and I don't think the manager and doctor are vital so sack them (unless the game has changed and you now need all the staff for set-up??)
As soon as you get enough money together then get rid of your driver and get one a lot cheaper as he will be your biggest drain on your money.
