Are you tired of domination in your league by the same persons?
Here I have some ideas for you guys to make your league more competive and make the game fun again!

1. The top needs to comeback

This is the one me and my league are actually doing at the moment, after two seasons of the same four winning all the races, and other managers not even getting close to podiums. The top four left and rejoined at the beginning of the new season, which left them with a 1 car on everything to start with. This maybe sounds weird, but this made old winners show back on the podium and left a manager who had no wins yet in Elite, in a close title fight. At the same moment the old top four was making a comeback, with a four time champion fighting versus relegation, and the defending champion started a comeback and a half with being back on top just two races before the end, still able to bottle it.
A negative side of this expirement is that the promoters will have a hard season, their concurents later in the season will have scored points already, and they will be doomed to relegate. So this expirement will only work in the Elite sectoon off a league with only 14/15 elite managers. To still give the just promoted ones a chance, at the same moment you could say they have a advantage over the top X who dominated last seasons, and should be able to comeback earlier than their fellow competitors. But you have to take in account they will be 3 levels lower and will have worse drivers.

If this works good in your league eyes, you can do this each three seaons. The past three constructor winners, and if somebody wins more than one the runner-up's/driver championship winner, will leave and rejoin, to make it still cool this doesn't happen each season. At the same moment this could make a multiple number three being the best on big distance because of his fellow concurents who had just more luck the past seasons, now for one season making a comeback, and would make it a dull season of domination. There is no domination with option two! (Credits to M S!)

2. Racewin? Go away!

This is pretty simple, if you win a race, you leave!
Everybody will just start the season like normal, but the one who wins a race will leave and rejoin. He will automatically get his points back, but his car will be a Sauber-Manor powered by Honda. This would make for pretty weird races and a weird championship, with everybody having a chance to win races and catch points, even just promoted guys! To stop people from pitting on the end to lose P1 and end P2, you can have people get one race bans who do this, done by the host who just keeps kicking the managers if he comesback just before the race, to don't have him race. You have to trust your concurrents for this one to work tho! About trust spoken.........

3. Nascar in iGP?!

NO DEVELOPMENT, yeah you hear me good, no development.
Starting the season everybody leaves and rejoins, and during the season nobody will develop his car. As there isn't research possible this would make the races all decided by drivers and strats. For even more equal car action you can say everybody uses Murk, or Coswurthit to stop costs. At the same moment you can leave this free, so you get strategy on who uses which engine partner at which race, maybe somebody uses Toyota for the handling and Michelin for to compremise on the Murk's, or somebody uses Rednote for big advantages in races like Valencia. You may let people use their points on Reliablity and Cooling as this doesn't increase the pace of the cars and make people use their tokens on stuff they need to use it on. This maybe only work when everybody has the same level, so everybody can have the same amount of research and same amount of boost and driver ability, otherwise this would help big level managers again, who dominated already.

4. Development RACE

You may know the drill now, but everybody develops now like a madman, because of everybody having a Manor car the development will get much more important than it was before. For this one it is again important all managers are the same level, to have all managers have an equal chance. The choice of partners is pretty important, long term contracts would be pretty cool here. As they would be too for option 5.

5. The RPG One

A four time champion is underperforming, but he is still racing with his same drivers same engine and same staff, that is pretty unrealistic, isn't it?
For this one you need all the managers to have a little bit of imagination and they need to want to play along, but if you can lt this work, you have real fun! For example manager Jan Jansen is a four time champion and losing at the moment, he decides to leave Cosworth, the engine he got his four championships with. And he chooses to go with Toyota, he is the very first team too. At the same moment he decides to let his new driver from the youth academy makes his debute at Monza, and signs the three time driver champion who was released a few races before by his rival because of poor performances. Promptly the three time champion her pace is back and she wins. At the same moment one time champion of Jan is angry and decides to leave to the team of Piet Pietersen, who is making his way up the league and is turning into a real points scorer with bad drivers.
One season later Jan is again underperfomaning, and his driver get robbed by another manager, Hans Hansen, who is winning the drivers but has a underperformaning driver next to his leader, and decides to buy the first driver of Jan, Jan gets the choice, take and old driver back, let a young driver debute pretty quick, or sign the underperforming one of Hans? This makes the game have much more descisions and make it pretty fun, you can have drivers who outperform their cars going to the big teams like in real life and drivers who are getting slower going to worse teams. This will make junior teams possible too.
Quick rule to make this possible to happen, don't overtrain your drivers a level too high for yourself, or a level to high for most managers, that would make this really hard to happen.

6. The Nations league
(Credits to Pablo!)

Every manager chooses a nation to represent, and they have to have their drivers, their nation, their car and their staff all from this nation. This will make it a sort of world championship, and pretty fun with your league reall getting a worldwide league. It may start desciscions to like if you chose to use tokens to rename drivers and such, or search for staff from the country you represent.

7. Changing the distance
What if you would change your league for one season to a different race distance? This would shake-up strategies and how people want chose to develop their cars. Going from 100% distance to 25%, I don't know if, but good chance this will shake things up!

8. Tyre rules
About changing things,
Like in real F1 you can have rules for tyres. Like selecting which tyres everybody can use, or that everybody needs to make atleast one pitstop, maube to a different set of tyres. This can make it somewhat more realistic, and make managers more supported to be active at the race with pushlevels. All can this ruin a championship for somebody who just misses one race in a season and doesn't get points because of not being able to change the PL, and his closest rival gets a 1-2. Atleast this will disable people to use 5 stops SS at Monaco and 7 SS at Valencia, and ofcourse 2 stop hards which are the most hated in the game I suspect.

9. You win, you go on Mediums
Talking about things everybody hates and tyres in the same sentence, asks for talking about mediums, the most useless tyre in the game. But if you win, you have to use them on a two stop. That's the rule.
Where do you want to win, and where do you don't want to win? This will make some weird strategies and late pitstops happen, is it worth getting seven points more than my rival here, and starting next race on the white wall tyres? This would make some crazy banter.

This is a quick list of suggestions I have to improve the competition in your league. If you have more, just comment! I'll update this list as time goes one with other ideas. And will update it when my league uses on and let you guys know the result of it.
I hope you have good fun with it!

Hi Rik, I've moved this thread to the Leagues & Events forum since it's a suggestion for league hosts rather than the developers.

Thanks for the ideas, theyr'e interesting!

This is just bad. Really bad!

Why would you punish people who are fast? If others cant beat them its their problem. Stop trying to make lazy people feel competitive. It's the developers job to  make the racing more exciting (in my opinion it's already very exciting, at least in our league) Why would you put a winner on mediums? Mediums are fixed anyway.

Mate, this isn't ment to punish them. This is ment to make the league more competitive and give these winning people a challenge, and give the in your eyes 'lazy' people a chance. These 'lazy' people, in my league atleast, were lacking behind because there level was lower. It's already very exciting, and I have great fights, but I just want to make it even more exciting and try things to make it a little bit different.
It's your choice either way, I just have this as a suggestion for people who are looking to make it more fun, or are more looking for  a challenge or to make their league different than any other one. I have had one of the funniest and most challenging great seasons doing option one.
And there are 8 other options too, so if you don't want mediums you can still go for another.

How many players in this game actually have issues with managers in their league being too good?

Often the "dominant" manager is around the same manager level as the rest of the competition, or in some cases, even of a lower manager level.

And if managers seek better competition elsewhere they'd usually do so. It's why the most competitive leagues in the game remain competitive; they attract the best.

Some things I've seen being done to make races interesting which I've liked are as follows. Players need to agree with it though, and how they affect quality of gameplay is highly debateable:

1. Gentleman's agreement on mandatory 2 compounds. Failure to comply with this rule would result in anything from a reprimand to a penalty. This is usually done to prevent the OP Hards from being used in every race in every conditions (not like the all Hards strat is the best every race though) - League I've been in that does this: IGP Champions

2. Players vote for a change in race distance and race speed which will be applied the following season. Best if done democratically. Usually happens in leagues that are rather bored of using the same strats for multiple seasons [but don't forget that you are free to experiment. The really good managers in this game often try to find new, competitive strats.].

Apart from that, the best is to learn from other managers, ask questions and seek answers, and help each other get better at the game. Last but not least, have fun and be gracious in both victory and defeat. :)

Thanks Boomer!
I see what you are saying here, and these options are mostly experiments.
About the dominant guy, we have one and he was two, is now one level higher than everyone else, and hard to beat, but it's possible most of the times if you don't fuck up boost or strategy or pushing level. These ideas began because of these dominating manager and his nearest competitors wanting a challenge, but don't wanting to change leagues because of the banter they had with the others, and everything went democtraticly too! Each season we now look at it like, is this season fun, what is the possibilty next season, what do you guys want. And most of the times we just do normal seasons, but these make the order become a little bit different, and that's the most fun about it.
