Practice laps confusion

Hi, I have just done 5 laps of practice in what the game said was dry weather but cars are topping the time charts on wet tyres 
How is this possible? I also have no idea now whether I can trust my laps knowledge from the practice session

Track was most likely wet when you did your laps.
It may of just stopped raining before you did your laps. So the weather icon was correct it was not raining, however the track had not dried out yet. and the wet tires were still quicker at that stage then  dry tires.

Well that seems to be a bit of a flaw then, I didn’t know it had been raining I seen the icon was dry weather did my practice laps then after I completed went to compare lap times with others and thats when I seen the wets was faster, so i assume I’ve now got to go into the next race blind as the tyre wear and fuel usage are not going to be right

Always check after your first lap directly if you aren't too far behind compared to normal, that will help you. If you do it afterwards you can have these errors.
