The "second season design" bug

What are you gonna do with this? I think it's the most annoying of all the bugs in the game.
There are many people switching leagues by leagues on purpose just because of that, they win the Championship and then they leave for another league making things to get the design bug again. And so on and on and on.
There are so many competitive leagues with people playing for months and trying to improve and catch up with the best teams season after season, learning and working their asses to be a little faster season by season. And then there are those teams who join the leagues and the season after they're the fastest from nowhere just because the game said so. It's unfair and really annoying. And this bug has been there for ages now. Are you actually gonna do something to fix this or is it something meant to make the game unfair on purpose? I'm really curious to hear about this from the devs and mods, as everybody seems to be scared to say something and talk about this damn bug!

Hi Lady Ade, I'll try to push for a change regarding this along with the other bugs in the game.

Is it really being exploited that much? Can you share some examples of players who are maybe doing this?

Additionally, the moderators aren't part of the iGP staff, so they can't do anything about this.

I can assure you there are quite a number of players aware of this bug and a few have been quite vocal about it. I myself have been the unintended beneficiary of this bug a year ago. I've been in, and am in a league where this bug would have an effect on the first few races of the season, whether the manager is knowingly or willingly exploiting it (I do not fault the manager but the way next season design essentially works atm).

It definitely affects the competition, though it does not necessarily mean the beneficiaries of the bug would become champion during their design bug season should other managers successfully overhaul them as the season plays out. 

From my understanding, next season design is based on the development from the previous season. In my case, all my teams left after the end of the season (so I effectively leave at race 1 of the new season, getting no car development). They rejoined the game in various leagues mid season, and started with around 210-230dp next season. This is because I only had 10 or less races worth of development.

Managers who have boosted next season design often leave their previous league mid season (instead of after a season ends like I did), and the game saves their development from those seasons, like for example 4-5 races worth of development. They then join another league at the beginning of the season, getting development from all 17 races. So a manager in my example above would have 22 races worth of development going into their next season car design, I suspect.

I suggest putting a cap on races counted towards next season car development. Maximum 17 for everyone regardless of when they left their previous league.
