Race is in progress at the moment, but everyone's tires are bright red (softs) and it's only lap 5. I am on Take it easy and my tires are blazing hot still.

Thanks for your report David. That issue is already known and highly on the todo list.
This happens because at the moment there is an imbalance between the speed of the track and the tyre wear factor / ambient temperature.

If there is a track where the cars have a very high speed like monza then the tyres will heat up very fast.
We will change that in the future.

Looking forward to it, and sorry about your question, misunderstood it, I thought you were going to patronise me on the physics behind the tire wear.

Tyre heat doesn't necessarily mean tyre wear though. Look at when it rains for example, the tyre wear is quite low, even when the tyres are getting towards being red.

Type in Monza & tyres and my post is older than that.. I've been signed up over a year and I am still waiting on basics like these to be sorted.. ;)

I think tyre problems are probably way down the list of fixes - especially as it is a known issue and you can work around it.

I think that's more what people are getting at.
