My whole issue is that tires are too temperature sensitive.
It does not matter which type of tire I use I always end up with the same lap times, because on softs I have to use low push levels to keep temps down and on hards i run on default and see no advantage in lap times over any type of tire.
Truly the whole algorithm should be looked at. I propose when running on any type of tire on default push should stay in the "grey" zone temp region. This would open up a lot more strategies to use tires and make the tire economy stat a more important stat to research.
To counteract too much of an advantage of supersoft then in this scenario is that tire wear should increase in hot conditions and as tires heat up too much i.e go in the red zone tires wear out sooner - a less predictable tire wear as is not the case now. So if you want to push harder you can, tires get hot and wear out sooner but hot tires don't slow you down until they are finished. Just as in real life the harder you push the faster you go to the detriment of tire wear.
Hot tires should not slow you down they should eat your tires. So once your tires are on 0% percent is when you should start loosing a lot of time. This will make a much more interactive experience. The current balance between tires is correct. Its just that the interaction of wear, heat and lap times is where the problem lies. Obviously the scaling of wear between 25% races and 100% race is definitely a must as this will make it more realistic. Please leave your thoughts.

Realistically this is the only flaw in the system and scaling wear to the duration of the race and the game would truly be much more realistic, think about it.

Thanks mike I am in that thread, read all the arguments, which will all fall flat if you scale wear rates to race distances, then you will automatically use two different compounds one for quali to get position and other for racing, if you adjust the algorithm as suggested then this would truly give way more options in strategy because there would be more than one ideal option to follow.

Actually it's the opposite. Using one tyre for quali and first stint is already quite a must in 25% and the general rule in 50% leagues but has not much advantage in 100% leagues. If the tyre wear is scaled to race lenght the importance of the quali tyre will be somewhat reduced in those shorter distance races because, due to more pit stops and with higher wear the lost time that comes with worn tyres, the overall strategy gains importance over a good position in the starting grid.

Is there an official statement anywhere that says :i.e. when tires are at 40% or lower a time loss is experience? because i have not experienced that only when tire temps are too high or when tires are on 0% then time loss is experienced.
