Just one lap, just the way you manage the race.
As far as I know, the game automatically does Quali round on a standard medium push level, no matter what tyre you're gonna use to start the race.
Everyone has his own style of playing and managing the races, but there's nothing you can do for Quali round apart from choosing the tyre compound. So it becomes just a matter of car stats and driver abilities. But things can change totally during a race. It can happen (and it happens a lot) a slower car with a weaker driver can be faster than someone else with a faster car and better driver, can perform better during the race and can give it several seconds of GAP even with a weaker package. So, too many times it happens some managers get heavily penalized by the Quali position and need to waste time, kers and everything to gain a few positions that could have been easily gained in Quali, if they could do it manually.
I know there would be a lot of "buts", but I think that would make the game more fair (and even more fun, cause I think that would be GREAT to manage the quali lap). Something like having the possibility to do the Quali lap manually right after you did practice and setup, at whatever time before the race. Empty track, just you performing your lap time.
I know, here's the question.. What about the weather? Conditions can change during a day and that wouldn't be fair if someone gets to do Quali while raining while others do it on a dry track, or some with a high temperature and others with a lower one, that can heavily affect the Quali laps. That's 100% true, I know. And that's my only concern about the whole thing. Obviously you can't force people to show up like 10-15 minutes before the race just to do Quali round manually, all with the same weather conditions, if they can't be there and can't attend the race. I know and that's the reason that makes the whole thing impossible to be done, I guess.
But I really, really wish there was some way to do Quali manually. Cause it would change many, many things.
