I imagine you have got a new driver already, but I will answer your question all the same for future reference of other players. Talent is an important attritbute to consider as it is the only one that cannot be increased through training. At the lower levels, I imagine it does not make much of a difference. But if you are putting up a driver with a talent of 2 up against a driver with a talent of 12, it will probably make a significant difference.
Experience is another one that cannot be increased via training, but this will increase with, you guessed it, experience. This trait will increase after X amount of races.
As far as the other attributes go, stamina is an important one to look at, as this will determine how much a drivers health will deteriorate during a race. You may want to consider wet weather as well, as obviously the higher that is, the better the driver will do in the rain. Apart from that, every driver is going to have their strengths and weaknesses that you can either focus on or ignore via training.
Hope this helps!

does talent increase or is it static?
Jason Lee medal 5000 12 years 128 days ago
They need to get rid of some of the retired and/or useless drivers down the bottom I think, and replace them with some new ones. All the high talent drivers are disappearing - 18 talents (atleast at a decent age) are virtually non-existent now. 17's are disappearing quick too.

Here's a little tip, for Long Term Contracts, you plan on growing the driver that is.
Talent > Experience = Age > Weight are your priority of choosing.
[list=1]
[*]Always go for Talent first, it's static and can never change.
[*]Then look at the driver's Experience if you find more than one with the same talent.
[*]After experience look towards age and balance it out to see who you can get with what experience.
[*]Then look to the weight, Stamina and Reflexes, raising both Stamina and reflexes to 19 should equal to your driver's Weight minus 51 or less. This allows your driver to leave Physical training with their weight at the minimum and reflex and stamina levels at 19.9
[*]Then look towards Speed, Speed is very important.
[*]Then look towards Defense Stat, making overtakes more difficult is always a key, with your high talent, experience, physical and Speed, you should be getting most poles and starting out fast and front.
[*]Attacking, Mental and Technical, in that order should allow you to train up/

I'm not sure I entirely agree with you on this one David. I know Talent is important but I would certainly prefer an 18yo 16 talent over a 25yo 18 talent. I would also say defending > speed > attacking for newer drivers, but maybe my experience in training differs from yours. Each to their own I guess :D

Talent isn't everything. There still is a L12 Talent driver that raced last season in our elite and leaves fully upgraded L14-18 Talent drivers in his dust.
Also, Defence is way more important than Speed.

Ryan I have done the same thing this season with my 12 talent driver, it's down to strategy.

I also don't agree with David entirely. For me technical is quite important. More important than speed.

lol one saying talent more important, one saying speed, one saying defence, one saying Technical, one saying physical, hehe so they all important right ;)

Talent.
What Ryan says is pretty much true but the 12 talent guy is buy far the most trained driver on our grid.
Ryan Ware medal 5000 12 years 124 days ago
Yeah that is true, I think Mauricio was bought very early in the game
