Does carrying more fuel cause the car to run slower??

Fuel is heavy, I learned that eventually. Also learned a few other things that isn't very well known. :')

It's probably worse than you realise aswell. Sometimes carrying one extra lap isn't so bad, but if you're carrying 5 extra laps of fuel you're going to be miles slower than you would be at light weight. When I started this game I figured "10L = 10kg, can't be that bad surely!" but man was I wrong. Learnt the hard way ;)

So if that's the case than a 1 stop will always be slower than a 2 stop? You know with fuel being so "heavy"...

That all depends on the distance, the tyre wear and the selected tyres :) (Not to mention the weather)

Lol'd @ Sarcasm

In real life, no. In this game, I'd dare say yes. The only time I ever see 1 stop hards beating 2 stops softs is when the soft user has a low design car and the hard user has a high design %.

Even at Bahrain I've found in 50% races that 2 stops hards is quicker than 1 stop hards, but 2 stops softs is even faster.
