This night I suffered another bug with the weather.

All day was for intermediate conditions.
1hr before race the weather was suddenly dry, and half an hour later It was for full Wet.

I lost many RP and money because I couldn't achieve the sponsor request.

Please, let's put away the dynamic weather system before the race, it's unpredictable and unmanageable.

That’s happens in the real F1. I think that if the weather isn’t like the real one the game lost a lot of potential.

I see, but in real F1 you have instrumentations, radars, Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, etc...
The game can't offer only one strategy for wet conditions and "pit after x laps" when it stops rain.

Many cases are not covered:
- qualify with wrong tyres (impossible understand which tyres choice)
- race with low or high water
- start with low Fuel if dry / High Fuel if wet

If the game would offer all that chances, It would be an argument.
But in this way is impossible to prepare a race, It becomes an annoying lottery.

Tonight I qualified 15th and 16th (first and second with I tyres), because race was for Wet....

No good, really.

It's a gamble we have, Best advice would be to be a spectator in a race before your own is going to start.
That way you can see current conditions and compare it with the setup screen of your own race.

But you will agree with me with the fact that nobody can stay fixed to the game in order to predict exactly how's going on in every moment...

The game can't change conditions before the race.

We have to prepare strategies and setups, and possibly everyone prepare it in time in order to avoid mistakes or classic errors ("not remember to set strategies" or "can't have the time to do It")

If weather changes 30 minutes before the start, I could have already finished my laps in the FP or I can't have the time to login in 10 minutes before the race start.

That's an argument waiting to happen.

Find a league that runs at time that best suits so that you can be online and able to do this that and the other in time for the race.
If you want to win championships & races that's what you need to do spend time watching others to give you an idea of what to expect.

Or be like me setup the car and leave it gods hands, and go out & enjoy yourself. It's a game, you are here to have fun.

I have been in lots of races that have been dry during locking and qualifying was wet or qualifying was dry and the race started wet.
There is around a 30 minute delay between real weather and games weather.
Sometimes there is no delay.
Sometimes the weather is completely different.
Weather watching is best done in game spectating & we all have equal chances of getting it right or wrong. :)

Would be nice for more options pre race though..I used to have a tab open for weather to check just before and during the race....

We used to have a weather station in HQ.
Ok it's telling rains on it's way but you can't do nothing till it starts and you see how fast the water levels are rising. You can't very well jump to inters because rains coming in one minute. You could go from 1st to lapped because of it.

I agree on the fact that dynamic weather should be like real F1 with the possibility to have continuous changes before the race.
BUT could it be a good idea to indicate more clearly in the car setup page something like "actual conditions"?
And we need to have the indication of how much water is on the track or at least how much rain is falling, otherwise is a lottery.
And since the tyre choice is locked after the quali beginning and we do not have more informations, the quantity of water can't change in that interval of 10 minutes :)
Last thing, I don't understand the settings tab about auto-change of tyres in case of rain :D
- if it's raining and water reaches X mm = ok
- if it stops raining for X laps = Don't understand. If it stops raining what is the actual temperature? How fast the track will dry? This could be ok during the race since you have the opportunity to see what is happening and if you leave your drivers alone is also fair the fact that you can't react properly. But if is this happening during the 10 minutes interval between quali and race? Should be like "if it stops raining for X laps and water decreases till X mm".

At the start of the race if you select Inter you will be using Inter, if you select Wets you will be using Wets regardless of the MM selected. Qualifying only seems to be the one AI selects the best tyre.

As for when rain stops you might find yourself throwing the phone across the room.
If it stops raining after 30 laps use M. I had selected.
During the race the rain stopped and water levels where lowering slowly.
I made strategy changes on lap 13, to get the driver to fit Inters in the pit stop.
At the end of lap 15 he drove into the pits & came out using M instead of Inters. :D

I had a suggestion knocking around somewhere to have use Inter between set amount MM & use Wets between set amount MM and then have the if rain stops use selected tyre. But dear knows what page that is on now.

It's a game, you are here to have fun.

Exactly!

We are here to have fun.

But you don't have fun if your strategy is completely wasted by the continuos changing of weather.

It's not funny to see our own cars in 15th and 16th positions because of wrong tyres in qualify, without any possibility to fix the situation at the start of the race.

I repeat: I'm not against the dynamic weather.
But with a better and deeper strategy system it would be ok.
With the actual system, is impossible, it's a lottery, and this is not I call "having fun"!

It's not a lottery because I won this particular race. I won because I checked the conditions by spectacting other races at the same track.

When I originally went to setup, it was raining so I left it. An hour before it was dry so I set everything up for the race. 30mins before and it was raining. I spectated so I knew it was 3.5mm and so a wet race. I then setup for a we race. I kept an eye on the weather and physically set the tyres to wets so that they were used for the race and qualifying.

There is a bug with the 'if rain at xxmm then go to x tyres' as I usually set it to wets at 3mm but that never works so I have to change it to 4mm and set the tyres physcially otherwise I would also have been on Inters.

It's not perfect and can be improved but we are all in the same boat!

F1 teams get it wrong from time to time and as it is we can get it wrong also. If it was perfect it would likely take away some of the challenge & excitement.
