Research point per race wrong

Hi in the last race, first of the season, I was spying on only one aspect of the car.
I have a 5 star CD and manager, and I got only one point.
Is that normal?
Usually I was gaining randomly between 5 and 20 points per race.
Can someone explain that?

As it was the first race of the season there would most likely have been very little difference between your cars and the strongest car in the attribute you were researching.

Research points are calculated as follows (Strongest car DP - Your car DP) x (research power / 100) and if this results in a decimal it's rounded up to a whole number. 

If you research your CD strength your research power is slightly higher than indicated and if you research weakness it is lower.

Research power can be seen in the Cars/Review page and will update as your level changes, your TD star rating changes or you research more than one attribute.

So basically, is not possible to grow the attribute more than the highest.
If I have a big gap, is growing more, if the gap is short, is growing less
