In order to optimise the Hall of Fame performance (which was becoming progressively slower as more players joined), the exact position of players below 1000 in any rank will not be shown. Unfortunately it was too slow to calculate this in real-time and placing enough burden on the servers that it wasn't worth keeping it for low ranks.

The most vital piece of information, the top ranking managers and your overall score in any rank, are still shown as they were before.

As a result of this change, the Hall of Fame and switching between all ranks should be far smoother. For low-ranked accounts it will only take a fraction of a second, as opposed to the seconds it was taking before.

As a new player to the game, i am already over 8k in a short period of time and feel I have not achieved anything as yet. Do you not think that 10k is too low?

Hi Nick, although this is not relevant to this topic, we are going to be working on improvements to the way reputation is calculated over the coming weeks/months. You have been playing for 6 months to gain 3k reputation, and it typically gets slower the higher it gets.

One of the changes we will likely make will be to uncap reputation entirely, once appropriate checks and balances have been put in place.

Jack, happy to hear from you! I am excited about uncapping reputation!

Hi Jack,

Uncapping will be interesting - though could you please give a basic information how it'll get calculated?

Looking forward to it!

If we can't even know our ranking position, it would be better to remove the Hall of Fame at all, is absolutely useless to the most of the users.

Suggest: wouldn't it be better to load an excel file on Dropbox (even weekly updated) with the various rankings ( rep, wins, races, points, etc) and show a link to it?

Pathetic

HoF is still useful to high reputation players, and we would like to see real-time rankings ;)

We can mantain the current real-time HoF, and add the off-platform, weekly (or even monthly) ranking

If I'm completely honest, the ranking system i don't even bother with, for me it's the fun of the game, the thrill of the battle, the knowledge that you worked your ass off to get just 2 points and yet still be proud of it. I see managers complain that they arn't winning races at every visit so they switch leagues as often as a light is turned on and off. It's ridiculous, I can't see why people just cant enjoy the game for the fun you can have within it, meeting and enjoying a community of like-minded people who enjoy the same sport/games as you do. Ranking for me is just ... meh, it's all i wanted to say *Rant over*

How about giving ballast to drivers over 25,000

I was wondering how the current top ranked reputation player has 10,000 pts ?  1 championship , 1 league, 139 races, 29 wins, 87 podiums and 17 poles. Compared to my 26 championships, 4 leagues, 951 races, 249 wins, 597 podiums and 126 poles.

I first reached 10000 reputation after 136 races (that's 8 seasons). You have to be in a league with a high average reputation, and beat your competition very consistently. My league's Elite tier had a 8600+ average reputation when I got to 10000 reputation, and it has a 8800+ average reputation today. I also never had a retirement, and never had both my driver lapped in a race ever. If you maximize absolutely everything (which attributes to spend design points on, which aspects to spy, race strategy, driver training strategy, etc.), it's possible.

I spent 1 season in Rookie, 2 seasons in Pro, and 5 seasons in Elite before winning my first Elite championship. But I'm not new to this game; I've had about 2000 races in total on all 10 of my previous accounts, so I know my way around this game. I've also been #1 in the HoF briefly 3 times back in 2016 (when the #1 reputation was around 9600).

It seems that your league's average reputation is somewhere around the high 7000s. That's not quite enough for you to get to 10000 reputation, since reputation is calculated according to the Elo rating system. If you beat lower rated managers, you don't gain much. I just had a bad race in my league where I only finished 8th and 11th out of 32 cars, and my rep dropped from 10000 to 9993. My drivers' average position was about in the top 30% that race and yet I lost 7 reputation. That's the Elo rating system for ya.

So presumably, if the devs remove the HoF cap then 10k rep managers in leagues with high average rep will continue to accumulate big rep points, raising the average for their league, making it so they receive even more rep points, raising the average rep for the league...… etc. etc.
A sort of chain reaction until iGP explodes LOL.
Maybe if the cap is removed there also needs to be a review of the calculation, and of course remove the bonus points for finishing top 2 (2 car leagues) or top 4 (1 car leagues).
PS. I couldn't attend last night so my drivers finished 9th & 10th which resulted in -9 rep in a league with 8789 average.

Yes, that's exactly what probably happens. The thing is there's no mechanic to match reputation in between leagues and I don't know any way unless there're widespread competitions across leagues one day. So reputation is alright to compare how you do in a league but meaningless across the game as leagues are mostly, apart from a few league switchers, closed systems powering itself in terms of reputation gains.

So with the cap gone the best way to level reputation would be being mediocre in a mediocre (or good in a across the board good league, which is harder to get) but old, so high average reputation, league. Because if you're too good you win too often and the others gain less reputation to in turn push you along and if the league is too good then you'd have more difficulties gaining reputation of course.
