Hi

I seemed to have made a bit of an error.

I signed a new driver, which took me overdrawn. I therefore cannot design or fit any new parts. My suspension is about to die at 33%. Presumably that means my season is over as I will not be able to race after my suspension fails and no money would be coming in.

I can sell my gym for 1m but I still need another 1m to get to 0.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

If you don't have enough facilities to sell to break even and you don't have enough prize or sponsorship money after the next race, you probably will need to reset your team.

I would wait another race to see if you can break even. I think the push levels in qualifying affect car wear a bit (Im not entirely sure, if someone wants to chime in that would be great) so take it easy during qualifying and see if that suspension will last. Finishing the race should help you get above water along with selling whatever you can.

yes I agree with Austin.  Go as easy as you can round the track and at least finish and hopefully you will earn some money.  Sell whatever you can.
Or if you are really messed up then just reset and start again - Its not like there is a time limit or something so enjoy the game however you want to play it out.

Another suggestion might be to set your wind tunnel, test rig etc to low (I had to do that to claw my way out of debt too) but there is a down-side in that the parts aren't so good, so you have to do more replacements.  My maths isn't good enough (and I don't have the time/motivation) to work out which is the better 'value'.

Good luck anyway Julian

I thought this day will never come. Someone getting bankrupt at iGP. This system is so permisive you have to be an out-of-class huge spender to run out of money. I have two teams and I bought everything and still the money goes up up up. And no, I don't think I am so good with finances, it's just iGP is a financial paradise so to speak. At GPRO I can't make a decent buck, but here you get humongous sums of money.

@ Alin - if you end up all alone in a tier (because everyone leaves)  you soon lose money like a leaky sieve - It happened to me.

I'd actually like to see something like technical partnerships become part of the game in the (not-near) future. So perhaps, if you build a wind tunnel, you can rent it out to another team in your league ahead of a race, and the other teams would have to place bids that you'd have to accept to get access (like bidding on staff, but manager to manager), or maybe renting data logging from another team in exchange for part of the sponsorship money (e.g. a free user rents logging service from a subscriber for one race, in exchange for 5% of the free user's sponsorship money for that race, and the free user gets live tire and fuel readouts, even in live timing view).

Or something like that. Just throwing an idea out, really.

Edit: Upon reading this back it wouldn't really work for this situation. But it still would be nice to have some facility for exchanging goods/services from team to team within the game.

Thanks Ryan - I am clawing my way back - which actually makes for a more interesting game. It gets a bit boring having loads of money and nothing to buy!

@ James, Yes - An idea to think about - there is probably something along those lines that could be developed.
I am assuming this is something that happens in real F1??

Jules,

You can get away with having just one driver too, which helped me bring Force Forward GP back from the brink.

Jules,

Yeah, that is what Colin is doing at the moment.
1 Driver, 1 car, less money needed to spend on repairs etc.....
Also, get rid of expensive staff and auto hire so you have low wages...
Should be enough to get the Coin rolling in.

there should be a system in place to help a team out in financial trouble, example is bringing up an in-game email and a prompt that guides you to the in-game email and tells you that a driver and some of the staff are being made redundant with perhaps one or two facilities, such as gym or simulator and you get a financial allowance that slashes some of the staff payment each race, by say, 10%, that way the team can survive until out of trouble where the team then goes back to usual staff payments and no more allowances.

on the side there should be a more expanded use of the economy for loans and payments to the bank for interest, so you gain a bit more money, like a safety net to catch the team from dropping into trouble.

its just a few ideas.

I would like to see some sort of lobbying added in a future update.  I know the supplier and sponsor systems need fixed, but what if there was also a system where you could choose a city to be your home base, and other cities would approach you with financial packages to relocate your operations and jobs to their city? It could include things like direct government support, tax reductions on facility improvements that reduced their costs, etc.  This would make you have to weigh out the financial package offerings from different locations.

Maybe these could also directly impact the wages you pay.  Maybe one city would have a high cost of living and therefore have higher wages, but would give you direct financial support to the tune of 10M per season.  Or another city could have low cost of living and so wages would be lower and your costs would be lower, but there might be some small additional difficulty in attracting and retaining talent?
