So earlier in my race (about 8 hours ago) 1D and 2D both stopped working for everyone in the league. Just noticed now it still isn't working - i'm surprised no one has reported this. It's not just my computer. I can't update my java (just uncase you thought this might be the problem), it tells me I have the latest update already. Timing boards appear but controls won't pop up. Originally had this problem at work, now I'm at home on a completely separate connection and computer with the exact same problem.
My friend in Australia is also having the same problem, and another in Germany. What's going on?
Sorry about this. There was a serious problem with the simulator that meant that connections to it from the 2D viewer and the live control applets failed. The races themselves were continuing and were simulated as normal even though no one could connect to interact with them. The timings chart will have been updating properly. I'm terribly sorry to say that the results for all races that actually completed will stand and we cannot undo this. A tool to revert the effects of races is something we have not yet developed but expect to get done in future.
The current system is becoming quite difficult to maintain and we are trying to focus as much attention as possible on developing a significant update to the system that is far more stable and maintainable in a number of ways. This is very close to being released now.
We will also be adding a far more sophisticated alerts system that will cover events such as this one. This will grab the attention of the developers the instant this type of problem arises.
