Hi just wanted to post something about people of higher levels joining newly made group to dominate the entire season then just leave when they achieve the championship win. It happened in our league this season and my team could not get into promotion because he was dominating and others like us in the league cannot do anything else to stop him.

And I will point out that team, It was Kwikasair with the Manager Raven Hill, so if he is in your league right now and you guys dont have the level to beat him, just inform your league admin so that he can kick him out.

How exactly do you assume he's hacking?

He's only a level 8 manager, and his driver is only level 9. This is nothing absurd - In fact it's quite low. The guy is doing nothing wrong and he did complete the seasons in your league so he was obviously not league hopping to keep a high % car, so what's the problem exactly?

Also, the only reason this guy was still in rookies is because when he was in our league (Aussie Teams) he was not fast enough to make it into the promotion zone. He wasn't purposely trying to stay in rookies afaik.

He came in and stole all the points away from the managers in the league aiming for promotion, and then left before the promotion script had been run and therefore making all Akisch's plans for retention irrelevant. It is disgusting gamesmanship and there needs to be a code in the script to prevent things like this hapening.

Now he'll go to his next league and win that, leave before promotion and destroy someone else's game for them. Not good when people like this are running around ruining the leisure time people spend paying for this game.

Interesting points you are all making.
How would you suggest this was dealt with?
Do other players just see it as 'gamesmanship' or is it 'cheating'?

Luke, what do you mean he left before it ran? If you want to avoid promotion then as far as I know you have to leave the league before the start of the last race, which it looks like he did not because he won the Abu Dhabi gp.

Raven Hill
08 Sep 2012 - Present Champions League Pro
03 Sep 2012 - 08 Sep 2012 Aussie F1 Pro
07 Jul 2012 - 03 Sep 2012 Aussie F1 Rookie

He got promoted to Pro no problems. I don't see the issue?

I thought the promotion script hadn't been run yet :)

I don't see it as cheating, however I think there should be some kind of rule to prevent teams with +2 or +3 levels over the opposition as their future season(s) are inevitable, and they will do a lot of winning. 9 times out of 10 they will run off to another league when they've got an acceptable amount of rep from the league...

Mmm, it's a bit impossible to limit managers to certain leagues though based on their skill - What if the only leagues that suit him time wise are way below his level, they'd essentially just have to not play? Not much you can do about it really, unless there was some kind of driver stat downgrade based on the average of the league, but that would never work.

What I mean to say is you can't really limit managers in what leagues they can join - It wouldn't be fair to force an Australian manager into leagues that start at 4am Melbourne time or something just because they were the only ones close to his skill.

I get what you're saying though, and it does suck, but there really isn't much you can do about it, other than unfairly boot the manager from your league.

There is no point really, to be blunt. The only reason this guy is still in rookies is because he has never been fast enough to make it out of rookies until now. He hasn't been purposely league hopping and dogging the system to do it, it's completely unintentional.

It's inevitable that he will eventually dominate a season because he is now much higher level than the average rookie manager. He's in pro now, case closed really. I think this was really either a misinformed post or Akisch is a little mistaken. No harm done though!

Ofcourse there are some managers dogging the system though, but not in this case.

There is a lot of misinformation here started by Alisch accusing me of hacking the league which is nothing short of neurotic. I started last season at level 7 competing against teams ranging from level 3 to level 10 and won 17 of 17 races on the calendar, if there was a huge advantage in levels the level 10 guy is the one you should probably be annoying.

Atom is a little off as well though more balanced that others, I was leading the rookie standings in the league he was in and moved mid season, this was because I was a subscriber who could rarely make that time slot so I moved to a league running an hour later for the last 4 races before completing a full season.

Sorry to bore you all because the facts are not too exciting but continue on :)

Well that's my bad, didn't realise you did another rookie season in our league. None the less the only point I was trying to get across is that you're not an exploiter/league hopper and you've done nothing wrong :P Sorry if it sounded rude at all haha.

I am glad this has all been cleared up without any name calling and bad manners.
It has highlighted a problem that might occur, both with players not understanding what is going on, and with players 'cheating' to get ahead.
So this has actually been a useful thread anyway
