What the title says really. Having done a fair bit of spying on the other teams, I probably have the most developed car on the grid but I struggle to get near the points whereas the teams with worse cars but drivers 2 levels above mine consistently get the podiums.
This doesn't seem the right way to do things. Arguably, the best driver in real life is Alonso but, in recent years, with a sub-standard Ferrari, he's really struggled to run consistently at the front whereas Vettel, the 2nd or 3rd best driver but in the best car has taken back to back world titles.
The same can be said about Button's world title win. Yes, he's a very talented driver but if his Brawn hadn't been so good out of the box, he would never have built up the points lead that eventually made him WDC as the other teams with better drivers developed their cars and closed the gap.
