I'm sure this has been raised before...
Is there any future planning around looking at limiting the numbers of tyres available during a race? Looking around there seems to be quite a number of leagues/races that are full length that end up with 6, 7 or even 8 pit stops (in a dry race). I completely acknowledge that the aim of the game is to complete a race a distance in the fastest possible time, and that may mean getting a fresh set every 7 laps...
Without any kind of tyre limit it means that drivers can just bang out "qualifying" laps without needing to worry about tyres (to an extent) since there is no limit on the number of tyres available. Having tyre limits would add an extra level of strategy and perhaps even push people in to running two different tyre compounds in a race which then adds an extra level of strategy.
I guess this the opposite of the situation with the Pirelli's in F1 currently where some are complaining that the tyres are too fickle and that drivers cannot drive at 100% for long periods due to the need to preserve their tyres.
