I was curious if there has been any discussion on allowing leagues to have different car requirements for the different tiers.  That is have the Rookie tier be a one car league and the elite (and possibly the pro but not necessarily) be two cars.  Perhaps a setting set by the league admin?  This would seem to make some sense progress wise as a manager would have to prove himself with one car before advancing to the league\'s two car tier.  In addition, one wouldn\'t have to leave a current league if they decide they want two cars - rather its a reward for advancing into the higher tier.

This would also solve a problem of an underpopulated elite tier as well.  But since I have yet to make it to the end of a season and seen a league progress through multiple seasons I admittedly don\'t know if this is an issue, although I could foresee it being one.

Yeah, I think it will take a few seasons for people to fan out and populate the higher tiers, but that\'s why we have the dynamic promotion and relegation zone sizes. They begin very large with lots of people promoting to populate the higher tiers quickly and keep the racing exciting.

As for the suggestion, it\'s doable, but I\'m not sure if i like it or not. It has some good aspects and some bad. Mainly I don\'t like the confusion it might cause, I like to keep everything as simple as possible. And if you relegate you\'d have to lose a car and driver, which would be a pain.

Yes,  I initially liked the idea but I also agree with Jack that relegation means you lose a driver you have spent time training!

Having said that, is it possible to have some leagues that do this? (but with a big warning!!) so that people can choose that option?
It might be difficult to impliment in which case forget it!

Thanks for responding Jack.  I do like the way promotion/relegation zones change over multiple seasons.

I agree that this would add much more complication.  Even when a manger is promoted to the two car tier it could cause issues that would have to be dealt with (what if the manager doesn\'t hire another driver?).  Although if a manger gets demoted, then I would think losing a driver could be interpreted as a consequence of a team not performing to expectations!  The biggest motivaiton for me thinking about this wasn\'t solving underpopulation of the elite tier (that just came with it), it was more of a progression from a rookie team to an elite team.
