It should change automatically now - as in real F1
If that is the instruction you have given for rain in the set-up.

It was set as the screen shot below

http://awesomescreenshot.com/00fizos83

Its was dry for quali, then started rain heavy, but my race & every1 else's started on original dry tyres and infact my guy chose to not even pit at end of 1st lap, he pitted end of lap 2 to get the full Wets that were needed where as most others pitted end of 1st lap, i would of manually pitted but wasnt sure if i had been put on the wets for the start or not. I was Def on slicks for race that started in heavy rain for 10 mins b4 start.

The compound choice is set when the cars set up at the start line - which is 10 minutes before the race starts.  If the weather changes after that, the compound won't be changed.  This isn't ideal I realise.

So essentially how my advance set was done is right?, and if it would of started raining 11 mins b4 start my guys would of switch to wets on the start grid?

ive got it set for when rains after 1 lap. is that right or need it set to zero laps?

Plus, is there a way u can see if its been done because on the 1st lap u just dont know what compound if its changed etc would strategy box 1st stint changed to wets if it had worked?

You did set up correctly.  If it had started raining at any point before the cars set up on the grid (i.e. before 10 minutes before the start time) then they would have put on Wets.  They would do this no matter what you had selected for the number of laps delay you have set.  So I'm sorry, but I expect the weather changed after the cars lined up on the start line and they would have been stuck with dry tyres.  The recent update only addressed the 20 minute period from setup lockdown and the moment the main race is set up.

If you want your car to pit at the next available stop to change tyres if the weather changes then you should select a delay of 0 laps.  If you select 1 lap, then your driver will do a full lap from the point that it starts raining, and only then will consider pitting.

New question :)

What happens if its wet for quali and u have wets at prep etc, but then turns to dry b4 cars set up on grid, do they change onto a dry compound and if so how do u set for that on the advanced strategy?

Ideally you would need to have a dry compound listed for the coupound to switch to when it stops raining.  I need to double check, but if you have Ints listed as the rain-stop compound (the default), then these will be used from the start of the race if it is dry and you had full Wets specified for your normal strategy.

My previous message was a bit misleading.

The default "rain-stop" compound is Soft.  The default "rain-start" compound is Intermediate.  So if you do not touch your Advanced Strategy then you would end up on Softs at the start of a race if you had specified Wets for your normal scheduled compound.

I can also confirm that if you have set Intermediate as your rain-stop compound, then this will be selected in favour of full Wets at the start of a race if it is dry before the cars line up on the grid.

Wouldn't it make more sense to do this change just before qualifying?

Feedback on this system:

I recieved the wrong set of wets which ruined my race.

Could you give me a bit more detail David?  Was it the compound at the start of the race that was wrong?  What compound were you expecting?  PM me if you prefer.  Thanks.

Basically the race was due to be heavy rain, but my drivers were opted into using Intermediates, instead of Full Wets costing me alot of time.

A suggestion to swap the tires in the pre-start grid lineup, instead of an automatic system?

What was your advanced strategy David? Whatever you have in there I believe is the tyre chosen.

Don't take this too harshly, but I think in this case if you had your Advanced Strategy set for inters for wet conditions then it's not the system's fault. I have used inters precisely once and have never used them again - the weather system in iGP doesn't have enough fine-grained weather simulation to make intermediate tires effective.
