Why isn't tire wear a factor?

I really wish tire wear was a factor. It doesn't seem to be at all. I just completed a 35 mile race where I was running soft tires, and the 2nd place car in front of me was running super soft (as we all know the softer you go the quicker they ware out) and I pitted 3 times in this race for tire wear and they only pitted twice, and was faster than me and ran the entire race with 1 pit stop.

Even if it's a better car, tire wear obviously will slow you down.

Is there no way to make tire wear a factor? Like once they get worn down the car goes .01% slower...and after two laps on the tires, it goes .03% slower,  the next lap.07% slower.

I think this would make the race so much funner and definitely make pit stops a factor, like they should be.

I mean every race game I've ever played they have always had two huge factors that decided the outcome...fuel and tires. Here it seems it's just one.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to my suggestion.

Hi Eric

Tyre wear is a factor, anyone who has played this game for a while and collected data will tell you that lap times increase as the tyres wear below a certain point.

You were racing at Monaco, 50% race distance and the manager who beat you used a strategy of 14SS/14SS/11SS which is a reasonable strategy.

Your strategy was 7M/9S/10S/13S. TBH this was never going to work, you qualified on Mediums and ran 7 laps on this compound. I don't imagine you could have got any temperature into Mediums at Monaco, so not only did they ruin your qualifying performance they would have been losing an enormous amount of time in the first seven laps against the two SS cars in front of you. Then to add to your woes you did one more pit stop than 1st and 2nd place cars.

The fact that you ended the race on the podium and only 21 seconds behind the winner is nothing short of a miracle.

Don't be afraid to experiment but have a look at the strategies used by more experienced managers and use these as a starting point.

The first race I was in I had the wrong strategy with to much fuel for the tyres, so when the tyres wore out I lost around 10 to 20 seconds a lap

Yep there is a drop off point to all tyres, sadly even at 100 percent distance you only need supers or softs to run thrpe race in.
Races may need to be longer without adding extra stops so ppl use harder tyres to make the distance

50% races doing only 2 Stops is faster. Further if the opponent has high stat in tyre wear it can hold on as a newer racer with tyre compound harder.
