They become free agents, you can either renew the contract with 1 race to go or save them in the shortlist tab and buy them back for 3 tokens if they are good. If you renew with 1 race to go the contract amount goes up, if buy them back as a free agent the contract goes back to the original amount .

It's all part of the business side of racing. You gotta spend it to make it.... 

However, by using IRacing.com as your primary sponsor and WTF1 as your secondary sponsor you'll maximize your revenue per race regardless of where you finish in the race.

Maybe it is your driver salaries, I noticed you have a 1 talent driver with a 600k/race salary. Get a cheaper and more talented driver.

How much are you losing per race?

It's hard during the early stages of your iGP career because there is a constant draw on money and tokens to develop HQ and change staff as you level up and their star ratings reduce.

It becomes easier the longer you play because you level up much less frequently so there isn't really any need to keep spending. Don't forget with iRacing you should be receiving 3 tokens per race. Over a season those 51 tokens can be converted to approx. £80m in hard cash.

Consider letting your Doctor contract expire. The game will auto assign a L1 or L2 doctor with a wage of only £50k per race, saving you £340k per race (nearly £6m per season). OK your driver training will slow very slightly but IMO it's worth it for the savings you will make.

Your current driver line up is not good, talent is the key and you're paying a lot of wages for Talent 1 and Talent 3 driver. Don't panic at the moment but keep an eye open for a low level Talent 20 driver. Once you have one they will last you for a long time if you train them correctly.
