I am finding that some of my lap times are better without being the ideal driver setup. My drivers are young with experience and knowledge
Driver 1
Experience 8
Knowledge 8
Driver 2
Experience 5

I would like to get an idea if I should setup my car based on driver feedback or lap times.

Feedback, because driver lap times are not consistent in lower levels and just become more consistent the higher their mental attributes are developed. I think the one for consistency is "focus", but you can't just train focus you have to train "mental" and thereby focus develops when it is its turn.
