I understand the motive is to have everyone purchase the 2D. I respect that and eventually will do so.
However, I find it incredibly difficult to half way manage a race with no lap counter. I have no idea what lap we're on, if my car is pitting on the correct lap, if I need to adjust so my stints so they are correct, etc.
Just an idea.

If you are referring to Live Timings with Controls, the lap counter is next to the leader's timings.
If you are referring to the 2D View, the lap counter is on the top left.

Thanks David. In response for my brother, I took this screen shot:
I cannot tell what lap they're on? Maybe I'm missing something..

Lap 26. See the part under Lead? It says Lap: and under Gap, it says 26, if they're a lap behind, the Lead will say +1 and if they are behind two laps, then it will say +2.

Dang I feel stupid!
Don't know why we didn't see that. Thanks so much David.

Don't worry Mike - this is a common problem.
Quite a few folk don't 'see' the lap.
Hopefully you will understand what all the other figures mean now.

I think in future the Lap Counter for Live Timing should be up above, next to where it shows the weather, so it reads "Lap 26/60 -- Cloudy, 16°C", and then put zeroes or dashes for the race leader's Lead and Gap.

It was tested in Beta in various positions and where it is now was reckoned to be the most convenient/least cluttered.

Except every couple of months someone mentions they can't find the lap counter.
