Real life what though? This is a racing game not a F1 Game. If the owners of the game made it the same as the real thing they will have to pay royalties to the real game. So in the end us as the players would have to pay money just to play the game. Im sure that would wipe out a lot of players!!
Dont get me wrong as i do like the idea but the process behind it all just doesn't work. The guys who do run the game do a great job with what we have. Sure there is a problem here and there but most of the time it gets sorted!!

It is a racing game BASED on F1, so i dont see the problem with adding real life scenarios, like what we already have, practice, qualy, same ties etc.. And i dont believe there will be any legal issues for just adding a point for fastest lap.

I like the new rule in real F1 but I don't think it would work in iGP because it would be yet another incentive for managers to save all of their KERS for a final lap "Boost fest".

Legal issues are a big thing with corporations. We had all sort of problems with the league i ran before and everything we had to end up sending to the corporation for their approval. So its better to stay safe then get involved with all that.

Agree Kevin on the "Boost Fest".

How about teams trying to just get fast and beat the team in front!! We also look at the fastest times of the track we are racing and see how close we can get to them.

Osbourne your talking a lot of poop mate. Adding in a point for fastest lap isn’t gonna cause any legal issues hahaha also about the saving kers for one lap at the end well that’s up to them but will it help positionally to just use on one last lap? Doubt it... it’s an extra dimension because at the moment I’m just watching my cars go round and round without being able to do much

Ok mate you run a game and you see what legal issues there are!! Its not easy trust me as i have been there and done it. To add to it here the coding required to do this would not be a small amount either. Its not something that will make the game better thats all im saying.

Your opinions I believe it would make it better and it’s not hard to add that feature in the slightest and in terms of legal issue again it’s not called dhl fasterst lap or f1 fastest lap it’s just his app saying we give a point for fastest lap legal wise has literally nothing to do with it

Jack, if you raced in a competitive well attended Elite league you would find that many of the top managers hold back their boost until late in the race. If a point was to be awarded for the fastest lap it would just encourage this to happen more often.

The cars in iGP are naturally fastest at the end of the final stint when the track has rubbered in and the cars have the lightest fuel load. As I said above, a last lap Boost Fest would be the inevitable outcome of this suggestion. You're entitled to your opinion but personally I don't think it would do anything to improve the game.

As for ease of implementation, I'm not a programmer so I wouldn't know but I believe the devs are busy testing and coding much bigger improvements at the moment.

Forget given a point to the fastest lap!!!!

We need innovation...Challenging enough and yet randomly possible...

So that we don't ran into legal issues with the big boys....how about awarding an extra point to anyone that sets matching times in two consecutive laps? I don't think many of us have been able to do that, so it wouldn't happen regularly and it certainly wouldn't be an easy task to plan for.

To get back on topic, I would rather see the additional point be awarded to the pole winner.

I would like to suggest an addition to this an option to league manager for cars to enable / disable kers
So with out kers manage push levels overtake fuel and fastest lap extra point will make a point in my opinion;)

I don’t see the issue if there’s already last lap kers fest why not it’s another point to fight for and something interesting to get people to watch and be involved in the races

Simple Jack, availability! This feature(1 pt/fastest lap) would work mostly for current top players. Simple mathematics; a level 10 technology can not generate the same performance as a level 12 and so on and so on....

could be interesting with some rules:
1. must finish in top 10 or 15
2 must be done in the first half of the race or at least not in the last 5 laps.
That might solve the last lap kers battle a bit.

I like the idea for the pole, too. Would bring some more diversity to strategy.
