I recently changed leagues, but due to having just completed a race in my previous league, I was locked out of the new league's next race (due to the one race per 24-hour limit), but I just logged back in and I was charged my normal staff wages, travel expenses, and for tires, fuel, and car design even though I wasn't allowed to enter the race. I'm also missing one race from all of my contracts (sponsors, suppliers, and staff) as though I had attended.
Surely this isn't how it's supposed to be? The game was right to not let me race and I was prepared for that, but I don't think anyone should be charged for a race they weren't allowed to run.

Yes this has always happened. Your drivers also lose atrophy points even though they didn't race, but luckily you get to train them again when your 24H training window expires.

You should get sponsor money though, consider it as a preview period of your team for a league, you basically showed up, signed a few autographs, got to know folk, did photoshoots and your drivers are tired from the work they did :p

No sponsor money either. Although I find your theory greatly amusing. :D
