My first post on the forums, like usual I setup the car before a race, but the non perfect setup is faster than the perfect setup?

Between the 1st, 4th and 5th setup, slight wing change from 16 to 17. And the 1st setup, 15/15.

Hi William.

If you make a note of the ideal setup for any circuit this remains constant from season to season. The only time setup changes is if it is wet which will require more wing and increased ride height. Driver height also appears to influence ride height so if you have two drivers and one is much taller than the other the taller driver will ask for lower ride height.

Anyhow, on to your question. If you do five practice laps without touching either the tyre compound or the settings you will see a range of lap times. With the small differences you are experiencing you can't with absolute certainty know that the settings with the fastest lap time are therefore the best.

If you're in a two car league why don't you experiment? Put one of your two drivers on their preferred ideal setup and the other on the setup that give the fastest practice lap. After a few races you will be able to make an informed decision as to which way to go. To overcome the fact that one driver may be naturally faster than the other, every race swap the driver on ideal setup.

Good luck.
