OK so here is what I think is going on, would love to know if I am right/wrong/confused...

The REAL WORLD weather at each track is being used on the REAL WORLD day that our races are being simulated...
Meaning: the forecast in Monaco is rain starting overnight and going throughout the day tomorrow...  since my race is 1100 local time (GMT +5) I should look at see what the weather will be like AT that time, to know what tires/strategy to run?

WHY if that is in fact the case, are we seeing 4 days of forecasting?  Is this because some leagues only race every few days?

Also, if the end result is that the race is occurring at say... 9pm local time in Monaco... we "race" with the weather at 9pm, correct?

Qualifying is 20 minutes prior to the race... are we in effect qualifying with the same weather the track is seeing, 20 minutes prior to "race" time? So if it starts to rain during qualifying, do we have the opportunity to change to wets for the race?

And finally - assuming all of this is true so far... wouldn't it be in my best interest to setup/test the car JUST prior to qualifying, to best match what the race conditions will be 30-45 minutes later?  If I setup the car 12 hours beforehand... a lot can change, yes?

Thank you for the help!

In addition, if it has been raining most of the day at a track but stops 1/2 hour before Quali & race.....I would expect track to be wet.......should we look at intermediates or are we safe to use soft / hard compounds...?

The weather is live, so whatever is happening at the country of whatever track you're racing at is what you will see on iGP.

The tyres will automatically change to whatever you have in your "advanced setup"

So if you qualify in the dry and it starts raining before the race, it will switch you to whatever compound you've selected. Default is intermediates. I recommend you switch this to full wets for every race.

Yes the weather system is based on what is happening for real at that time at that track.

The multi day weather that is shows you is just like any other multi day overview you would see on the TV for example, a general summery of what will happen during the day shown. To be sure of what will be happening at the track when your race is due to start you could look into doing your own more detailed investigating using real world forcasting webs-sites. And yes some leagues race every few days/ once a week so the forcast given show racers what is going on leading up to their race day.

Yes the best time to do your set-up is probably just before the cut off point for the race event in general, but if its dry during the build up to the race and then rains 5 mins before the start that doesn't help your set-up much, this is where trying to find out accurate weather for your race time will benefit you, particually if you have some of your own default set-ups noted somewhere (ie. a general wet setting you can put on the car ready for the forcast wet race even if the set-up time is dry).

In advanced options you can save some settings that automatically kick in if the weather changes after the cut-off, i think by default it will put inters on which are pretty useless really.
