Just tried a 'Quick Race'..it is certainly quick! Great to see the distance, and therefore the tyres used in the race, were at a different distance to league races, although personally, I believe separate tyre compounds should be used, to limit players quickly testing a circuit before a league race, to see if they overheat or not.
Speed wise, I personally found it a bit too quick. Not sure on the exact speed factor..felt like x4.0 speed, but it was harder to apply tactical moves. I'll race a few more though!
Edit: Just timed the lap, it is x3.0 speed
Further Edit: Race speed is now x2.5. It's good now..you can just have enough time to make moves with KERS etc. And of course quick enough, that it is a quick race :D
I'm curious as to how cars qualify on quick races. Can see Mediums starting ahead of Softs and Supersofts starters for instance; I was one of those Softs runners and I had a full condition car starting behind Mediums runners.
It's faster than 2x speed for sure. I agree with Peter in that you can use quick races to test temps. Distance is about 33% so I guess tyre wear scales to that too; even for 10(?) economy they wear considerably faster than 50% or 75% distance.
EDIT: Ah, I'm silly. Looks like all quick races are 20 laps?
I've just found out the workaround on this one Brajan :-) Go to 'Drivers and Staff' then click 'Change' and select the 1 driver you would like to race with. It will automatically put him/her into the #1 left spot ;)

Just done first Quick Race. Was entertaining but driver had just finished a 100% league race and was a little tired. got 2nd by 1.6secs due to not enough boost to fight the other guy off. 180K and a handful of XP. No issues.
4th race was a win, 11secs to 2nd. Seems the cash and the XP are the same no matter where you finish.
The only thing that may make it worth my while to do more "quick races" is to test the different tire compounds. The gains are far less than the losses. Not a wise business decision even for a simulation game.
