Sean, I had a look at all the links, the 3 first links uses US system (F°, mph), whereas the others uses SI system (C°, m/s).
Maybe you should harmonize that.

Thanks again, it's great to have everything in one place.

Opening such a link in AndroidApp was awful: It triggered browser to open new tab. When returning from browser, it did it again. Had to kill app.

I like to use this site: http://www.myweather2.com/motor-racing.aspx
All the major F1 tracks even have hour by hour temp and water levels.

Hi,

I have a question about the weather IMPLEMENTATION:

First I want to say that I have read a lot in the forum about how weather works. Still I have this question:

I have read (and I'm told) that the weather forecast in iGP isn't synced 100% and therefore cannot be trusted 100%, even if we are close to racestart time. By this reason, we are told to use the real life service of Darksky.net.

Then my question:
When the race starts, the forecast in iGP could in example show Rain, while the Darksky service shows Overcast with no rain. Which source does the actual race simulator generate it's weather from?

The problem is this: We are told to trust Darksky. OK fair! But if there's a difference between iGP's shown forecast AND Darksky forecast, - is it then true that the race simulator is linked to the Darksky forecast rather than the iGP forecast?
THEN, as I am interpreting this, iGP uses two sources (yes, Darksky in both, but still): One for it's forecast (which is wrong?) and one for it's race simulation (which is right?). (Because iGP forcast says Rain, and iGP race simulator says Overcast.

Why not simply use the same "source" for both functions?
If we should trust the Darksky service, it means iGP race simulator has a 100% synced and true connection to Darksky. Why not ensure this connection to the iGP forecast as well?

The iGP forecast is not exactly wrong, or different from DarkSky, it's just for the next day(s) which is not really useful on race day. The DarkSky forecast itself is as good as its weather forecast is in general and the race viewer follows it as closely as the real weather does, or at least what DarkSky thinks it's the current real weather at the race track location, but with a delay, consisting of the polling interval of the weather API and the delay until your race server gets its weather update.

Thanks for your answer.

But couldn't there be made a solution where at least iGP forecast and iGP raceviewer is synced with eachother? As I understand, now both these functions are updated via separate polls from the API (which makes the difference). Wouldn't it be better if the iGP forcast polled the API, and then the iGP race viewer used this same piece of information?

(It doesn't matter if the race viewer uses weather info that is some minutes old compared to real life weather, - it would be more important that the two functions in iGP are synced.)

Not really, the differences between them are that one is forecast data and the other the current weather data. To sync the forecast to the current weather at the time is obviously not possible (and if it would be it'd be better for DarkSky doing it rather than iGP manager) and to do it the other way would kill the point of doing it in the first place as the race weather would follow an old forecast instead of how the weather really is, more or less given DarkSky's (lack of) accuracy there and the time delay, but still better than going after even hourly forecasts.
