Having played the game for a few weeks now there are a few things I would like to see in the game

Driver Skill - It's good that you have their skill settings, but it would be nice to have more info about the way they like to set up the car and that can play in to the way you design it. A relationship between the drivers characteristics of preferring over steer to under steer or the way they like to carry speed in to corners would be great to support the way you focus your car development. A drivers style coupled with his weight could then blend in with the car design characteristics and engine choice. Jenson / Sergio smooth and gentle on tyres vs Alonso / Hamilton aggressive and harder on tyres but faster over a singel lap.
Also the driver might have a few characteristics such as being difficult to manage (jaques Villeneuve), very professional (Jenson), Money motivated (Lewis ;o), Ruthless (Michael) etc etc

Car characteristics - As above there is no real insight as to what type of car you are designing? are you aiming for mechanical grip or aero performance, Maybe we could select from a few characteristics at the start of development process and then evolve the car from there. This also plays in to the engine maker choice as someone may want to go for a slippery aero package with a light engine unit which could match up against a mechanical grip focussed car with a powerful engine.

Tyres - More compounds please. super soft, soft, medium & hard please. Give us more options on strategy. go light for a 3 stop on super soft vs a 2 stop of soft or a 1 stop on medium or hard. Right now a 3 stop will not beat a two stop if the tech director recommends a 2 stop especially on 50% distance races so it needs to be spiced up a bit for those guys running shorter race distances. Also the degredation can play more in to the above ideas so that a heavier car with more mechanical grip may be harder on its tyres but maxes optimum performance faster vs an aero car which is lighter on it's tyres but struggles more to "switch them on" to optimum temp

Driver news feeds, we can make comments on sponsors and drivers but it would be good for drivers to have opinions and share dissatisfaction at poor strategy choices or comment back on how the team is being managed. Make the commercial guys have to smooth relationships or respond to criticism from sponsors when things are not going well. Have a rumour mill where drivers are touted to move on to another team or a design director.

I am sure that some of the above are already integrated in some way to the game but it would be nice for it to be more intuitive and to feel we are choosing those characteristics and design route strategies and really coupling a driver and engine to create a package. At the momenty it seems to me that I am just developing my least developed part, training my driver in his weakest areas and selecting an engine that has best general stats. there is no way to understand tangibly how my driver, car design, engine components are coming together and complimenting one another.

Thanks

Some drivers make history. I love those guys! Schumacher helping out ferrari, Hamilton helping out Mercedes, Raikkonen helping out Lotus.
They are not motivated by money, but by passion for the sport. Winning in a Red Bull is no challenge for the real talents as Raikkonen, Hamilton and Schumi.

Vettel has the talent, but the kid has no backbone, no character. He doesn't want to write history. Is affraid of not winning. Is scared of ever leaving the easiest team to drive for. Respect for Lewis and Kimi who dare to jump from the succesful Ferrari / McLaren into new adventures.

Hi Chris, regarding your point on car characteristics, I believe the new design system will address this.

We have been waiting for the simulator to catch up with the websites for a while and be ported across to this system. We can't release it until that is done. It has been difficult for the simulator developer(s) to get around to that job until now. It's something I expect them to start working on this month.

Wow that looks fantastic Jack! I could see how some projects would be for paying members only. That would  be a nice extra. It would be the kind of thing that makes me pay for the game, especially if these projects are interesting at the Pro and Elite levels, when I've already evaluated the game.
