My situation is; I need 30 million, ideally within 5 races. I got 11 million now, can buy merc booth, but does it earn itself back this quickly, or how many staff should I put on it?

I made some mistakes with staff at the start of the game, and lost a lot of money, that's why :P Need kers and a better driver, now halfway in the season -.-

Thanks a million times for good advice!

Jaap, I know of some who are making a million and more per race from the commercial facility.

I also know of some who have never used it and continue to make a profit every race. They tend to have design fully staffed and then use the rest to fit new parts to the cars.

Do you want to make money or do you want your cars to be as fast as possible?

Obviously just the latter, but I have to buy KERS soon (20million) and a new driver (some 9million perhaps).

No matter what you will not make 30 million really fast.  You might be lucky enough to get your KERS by the end of the season (since you're half way thru) so that you can have it for next season.  Here's my suggestion for earning consistent money while maintaining speed.

First, drop your Commercial Manager and Technical Director.  Replace them with default level 1 people at just 1k per race cost.  Currently these two positions are pretty much pointless and by hiring people into those positions you're really just wasting money.  Next thing you want to do is every few races (it's either 4 or 5) give a positive comment on H20, iRacing, Image Space, and Obutto sponsors.  Once you have them at 10/10 for relationship (this will take some time) you can get each one to give you 1.5 million per race. Once you've got them to give you 1.5 million per race only do a 5 race renewal when the time comes to maintain the 1.5 million.  Along with this just make sure to do your best to achieve your team goals for each race and be in a leauge where there are a lot of managers in your tier (i.e. 16/16 managers in a 2 car league).  Right now you have 5/16 managers in your Pro tier and that greatly reduces the reward money for achieving your race goals.  More managers = more money.

With this method I'm able to earn 1+million per race if I do not achieve the team goals and about 4million per race if I do achieve the goals with both drivers.  And I'm replacing the parts on both my cars every race.  For your need of a new driver, I'd say don't worry about it right now.  Use the next couple of seasons to just work on building the team and use the drivers you have while training them.  Once you have your team built and earning good money per race then you'll be able to easily replace the drivers without worrying about if you have the money to do so.

If thats the case then why employ anybody at all? :P All I have is a doctor and designer

I believe one of the requirements for getting race objectives (and the income that comes with passing them) is having staff in every position.

Buy your KERS unit and then sell your research center, you will never need it again, atleast for the forseeable future.
Until, after about 9 months you'll have about 700-1.2bil in cash, providing you don't go mad on creating loads of Projects.

That's interesting, after wasting about 2 million on just those to positions.  Where do I find out what each directory does for me?  I was looking for information on how much Commercial staff I need.  I grabbed a Commercial Director that's costing me $250k a few races ago.

So, does a Tech Director really have no effect on my team?

by the way, how do you hire "default" directors for 1k per race?  Just tried hiring a cheap commercial director, and the lowest I can find is skill level 2 people who don't take less then 16k as an offer.

Dave, if you use the auto-sign feature, you will get the cheapest staff
