Rewards

Can reward points be purchased or can they only be "earned".

It seems to imply that for 14.99 pounds I can purchase 1000 reward points to restore my drivers health to 100% get 8 more engines 50 * 8 =  400 and restore my car to 100% 5 times.

Is this correct?

You can just buy stand along reward points to spend them how you want. Even if you don't have the fully 2D package.

Actually it is not. I am disappointed that my fantasy management of a fantasy F1 team can be out played by real world dollars or pounds. The strategy of picking a driver and managing the resources is out played by dollars alone.I am very disappointed.

Hmmm - even I didn't fully understand that this was possible - I'm a wee bit disappointed too, although someone will no doubt point out even with this system, money isn't everything.

It's a commercial product in part. I understand developers' point of view. Most MMOG work like that.
