We have a female driver in our league, who's some 20 kilo's lighter than mine, who's pretty fast. Is this because of weight?

In other words, how important is weight of a driver?
50 kilo's or 100, does it make a difference?

Thanks in advance for help.

Jaap, On it's own the weight is not that important, but the 'Physical' attribute is very important. By increasing that the weight will drop

Some will argue it's very important, but I personally don't think it is. One of the fastest drivers I've ever had in the past was 70kg when he was at his prime (although he did have 19 reflexes and 19 stamina) but even with his weight at 70kg, he set two qualifying records in the last season I had him.

So if there is some down fall to a heavy driver, I certainly don't think it's the same penalty as running extra fuel in the car or something.

he did have 19 reflexes

What happened when he used all those 19 reflexes ?

In iGP's view, fuel's weight is different than driver's weight. After all, iGP works with all sort of kilograms, driver's kilograms, car's kilograms, all sorts. They are different...

Jason do you think your driver would have been even faster if he was 51kg and set more records. The theory goes that the lighter a driver the more car balast you can run and achieve lower/better centre of gravity and car setup. I have been wondering whether height is a factor also as one of my fastest drivers was talent 11, 51kgs and 190cm. Is it realistic to have a tall guy like that weigh 51kgs. I would welcome other peoples input and experience of this.

There's absolutely no question that driver weight is critical. I have a driver with speed ratings at 10 or below, yet she has won races and podiums in a very tight Elite level league because she's at minimum weight (46kg) and has 19 stamina/19 reflexes and 100% health.

Yeah, but now Hughes will put all his drivers on the Atkins diet and we'll never win again.

I've recently been training physical but the last two physical training has given me (-0) weight change. Is this just rounding? As I seem to be stuck at 51kgs

...An ideal way would be to consider the BMI into the calculations of how quick the driver will be...

Great thanks, I wondered why & now I know.

Does anyone think that the 5kgs would make a difference?

Trained Physically my driver and he  lost no weight!!
Is there a minimum weight they reach and once there (i.e 51 Kgs) they can not go below that limit?

Minimum weight for male drivers is 51kg.
Minimum weight for female drivers is 46kg.
