I dont know if its a good idea i  this game, because someone could use all his boost in one lap just to get the one point. Imagine to lose a Championship like this :)

in this case, it is further encouraged to play online. offline it will be impossible to set the best lap time.

I think this would be a bonus for the smaller teams something to fight for. Using all your boost for the fastest lap could cost you the race when you really do need the bost, for example DRS zones.
