Hi Team
I am not sure whats the problem with the system even thought i have enough fuel for 2 laps my cars went for pitting twice... can you please explain ??
From the below screen shot you could see in Stint 2 i have 8 ltr of fuel and per lab it take only 4 but it still went for refueling..

nope...sry the tire wear and fuel load dont show up in the pic....but...if u watch ur pit screen u can cancel the pitting of ur cars....ive been doupped out of a podium finish for not paying attention.....all i can tell ya

Not paying attention sums it up really. And yes, Suresh, only you can see the tyre wear and fuel loads on the link.
If you look at the numbers you sent me privately, at the end of lap 19 your driver crossed the line and had 8 litres, not 8.1, 8 dead.
Your previous laps you used at least 4 litres, but the exact calculation for this circuit (Suzuka), by my sums, is about 4.1 per lap. So when you came around to the pit lane at the end of lap 19 to start lap 20, you would have had about 3.9 litres, or 4.0 litres and not 4.1 or more (probably at least 4.2 I would have thought would be required).
If it was 4 it would not have been enough to make it to the pits at the end of lap 20 and you would have run out of fuel in the pit lane, so your drivers WISELY came into the pits tha lap before to avoid a retirement.
The earlier pit stop resulted in all stops being off schedule and an extra pit stop being required on the penultimate lap, this could have been averted by adding the extra laps fuel in either of the two previous stops. Again, that would have required paying attention ;)
You probably want to delete this post now. :p

I think we all have times when we're very marginal on fuel and had to pit before the last lap for a quick splash & go.
I always put some extra in as there must be a rounding factor going on in the background as I've pitted with 0L showing (during the race) and when I've looked at the race results I've had 0.1L in the tank before the stop - added complication is where the pit box is relative to the finish line.

Well yes, 0L on the left hand panel is not empty, it's 0.9 and falling. It's important to work out the exact fuel usage per lap for a given circuit and always round up, then such problems should not occur.
We all screw up from time to time though, of course.

What doesn't make sense is that hasn't iGP updated the 2D viewer so that it shows fuel to two if not three decimel places.

To be fair, I think they have other priorities on at the minute. Whilst it would be good, it wouldn't make too much difference. It's not as if there isn't a work around of putting an extra 1L in. I also doubt this extra 1L make that much difference in lap time.

I think to show the fuel level in three decimal places would make the interface for the race quite messy. As far as I can see it's no great problem to use a calculator when you're working out fuel pre-race.

It's actually not. It's 0.5 and falling. I know, it sounds wrong and I've always wondered why it is like this, but that is how it is.
If your digit drops from 4L to 3L, that means you're on 3.5L not 3.9L .. It's really misleading in races sometimes when you think you can push but you actually can't.
Ethan Bass medal 5000 11 years 240 days ago
Yeah and that is why I think it should be updated so it shows the fuel going from 4.0, 3.9, 3.8 etc so the information we get isn't misleading cause it's cost too many people wins.

Got it. Much more clear now Jon . Thank you so much . That explains everything :)

Hmm, that's interesting Jason, and explains some things we've seen in past races.
The 2D browser could do with at least one decimal place, but in it's absence it's fairly easy to work around it.
One can generally be sure of not losing any wins or places if one just throws in an extra litre here and there. Playing it safe never caused a DNF.
