Just loading a strategy for my race tonight at Bahrain, saved it, went and re-checked the weather and luckily double checked my strategy had saved. I say luckily because after reopening my strategy page, I noticed my drivers setup had saved but his strategy hadn't. How is this even possible when I did them both in the same save?

The setup on the left is exactly what I had saved and was correct. On the right hand side I had it set to 37, 33 and 33 soft soft soft. I saved it as I said, re-opened it, and noticed the setup was still saved correctly but the strategy itself had reverted back to default 33 33 33 hard hard hard.

As I said, I originally saved my strategy AND setup under the same click the first time around, so how did it only manage to save half of what I did and not the rest? Only mentioning this as I think it might be a bug, or something atleast worth looking into. Luckily I've noticed before my race so I've had time to correct it.

Had a similar problem right now.

Saved my setup :
Soft 43L for 5 stints. 5/5 push hard

When I loaded the live i got :
Soft 47L for 4 stints. 3/5 hold position

One more bug to the game...?

:-(

I briefly looked in to this when it came up and bookmarked it for later review. I don't understand why it's happening. Have you had it happen ever before or since it happened this time?

I understand you want answers (and preferably quickly), but I hope we haven't given people the impression that we can always be on call for every forum thread etc. every day.

No, this ones new to me. I've had everything reset before, but never just half of it. It literally makes no sense.

Hello,

I have had the same issue at Bahrein with 2 teams using different browsers.
One is with Internet Explorer 8 and the other is using Opera 12.15.

3 managers with the same bug at the same circuit.

I will update this thread if it happens again.

Take care,

Ethan

Thanks. The more info we can get on what you were doing as you saved it the better.

Usually in describing what they were doing someone gives us a good clue, especially if it's consistent among several people. Atom gave a good description in the OP but I didn't get any indication why it might have happened from it, and couldn't see any in the source code.

I would be surprised if it's something to do with a particular track, but that might be the first clue. Has this happened to anyone at a track that is not Bahrain?

Interesting though, you can see in my first post the track it happened at was Bahrain.

Hello,

I have just had the bug again in turkey this time. I finished my setup and saved my strategies.
After doing that, I went to the home screen and saw that "Save setup and strategies" was still in red even though I had already saved my strategies.
When I went to the "Pratice" screen, I noticed that neither my strategy nor my assembly was saved.

Here is my home screen after saving the strategies

Here is my assembly screen which didn't get saved

Here is my strategy wich were not saved even though all the other parameters were kept.

I am using Opera 12.15 on Windows 7 64 bits.

I didn't do anything specific, I logged in, did my training  and then my setup and practice.

I hope this will help you.

Take care,

Ethan

Now that you say it (again), I remember an issue saving changes with Opera a long time ago... I'll grab that browser and see if I can reproduce it.

Anyone else using Opera or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I use everything other than Opera lol.. IE, FF, Chrome, Sleipnir on occasion.. But my bug was different to his, because it saved the parts and the setup, just reverted the strategy by itself to default

Thanks for looking into it Jack.

If I am the only one using Opera, don't spend too much time on it. I will check every time just to make sure that everything is saved.

Take care,

Ethan

Has this stopped happening? It seems like reports of this stopped ever since we improved database performance.

At the moment I think that must have been the issue. It would explain a lot as that would have (on rare occasions) caused slow page loads making the AJAX requests time out, so the save operation wouldn't go through.

Wouldnt that still not explain what happened to me? 50% saved, 50% didn't? I haven't had it happen again though no.

It would explain that even better, since the database could become overloaded half way through the operation. It might complete the first action then get stuck on the second.

I don't have the conclusive data to prove the link, but it explains everything, like how it coincidentally happened more when we had issues with database performance, stopped when we resolved them, and why the code worked flawlessly for months and didn't have any errors when I read it.

A bump, this happened again today.

Logged in. Loaded setups. Changed tyres. Changed fuel levels. Changed push levels -> In that order.

Everything saved but the tyres. Didn't notice until the qualifying results came through and was wondering how I got pole with hards, lol. I was on softs.
