Howdy All

Searched the forums and have spoken with some freinds about a few things that id like to open up to the forum ppl. Currently second season in and at Pro Teir enjoying this game quite abit.I seem to be struggling alot more this season and while im loggin alot of my data i seem to be hitting the "perverbal wall" with ideas to increase my chances of finishing higher in the points more consistently. now my league has some fast drivers with a rather high lvl and unfortantuely im without KERS so i know im not going to win any races anytime soon thats forsure So abit of a back story, after the first couple of races i thought id try to see which teams are around my level with drivers and stats and i found a few that were without KERS so i thought that id be best trying to race / watch them with a realistic goal of scoring a few pts per race.

So i thought in order to achieve this i really need to concentrate on my driver training and car design as i thought i was really far behind but it appears im not at all which was a relief.
So my next area was pit stop strats and what would work with my car and drivers.... i have and it seems i need to run rather light (to an extent) to keep up as i tried some long stints VS short stints and on the longer stints i suffered BIG TIME !! I was just too slow... (related to driver train and overall car desing and parts lvl perhaps ? maybe ?)

The problem i seem to run into every race and before i go on (yes i have now had two races that i ran outta fuel and this was due to being so far behind leader that it threw off my pit stop and I believed i was on my last lap to pit, the display showed lap 25  i was meant to pit on but 1/2 way threw the lap it changed to lap 26 and then i saw fuel load and i was going to run out thought it was weird he wanted to pit early thought it was a bug but yeah weird) but anyways the drivers that are around me in terms of driver graph and lvl (some are lower than me) aswell as car part % WHICH im abit higher seem to always beat me and are quite quicker some stratigies i have chosen wrong pitting more than others and i have worked out why so that ticks a box there.

But even when i can run the same stratgy as someone with lower stats in graph and car design lvl i still seem to get beaten quite convincingly. And im lost as to why and i was hoping someone might be able to assist me in the right direction, im not asking for a golden ticket but jsut some ideas on areas i can look into.. could it be as simple as adjusting my stratagies as they are crap hehe ? or something that i have overlooked completely and never thought about. ?Appreciate your time for reading this and any advice you might be able to provide.. (dam and lunch break is now over back to work :( )

Cheers

If you have nothing to lose you must try short stings with soft tyres, but you have to make sure that tyres are in good condition..maybe 2/5 push is good in most tracks...Apart from High Temp tracks you can use soft tyres mostly...As you pointed out you don't have Kers so running light on fuel can give you a boost in the pace..but Running out of fuel is extremely frustrating so i always put abit more fuel then needed...If Its your first season in pro you have to concentrate on next season so you will have some disappointing results but it is about gaining experience so racing from lower then midfield with having a less expectation and less pressure will allow you to race freely and you can try various things to know what is best for your drivers..Good luck :)

These posts really do show that there is a lot more to this game than first meets the eye.

All of Om's comments are valid but look at your car parts - how high is the output and mechanical upgrade.
What facilities do you have and do you use them to the full.
Which areas are you training your drivers, what is your relationship with your staff and how well trained are they.
Which fuels, tyres and engines do you use.
And a heap more besides these few pointers.

So as you can see, there is a huge amount of data used to 'make a car go faster' - the actual race is only part of it.

Good luck.

HI All Just wanted to say thank you for the responses.. Edwin and Co I have replied and thank you for your assistance in the near future. Jake and Om thank you for your comments is shall take different approach when looking at these other areas , Om yes i tried that at Monaco but the the overtaking being hard (which i didn't take into account) really ruined my race so lesson learnt there i suppose but yeah a double edge sword atm taking on my fuel i would have been even slower, well one would think hehe) but yeah thanks again guys.
