Maxed out stats

If I have my fuel and engine suppliers give me extra acceleration, for example an extra 14points, if I then use design points to take the acceleration to 100, would I have effectively 114 acceleration, or it does it stop at 100, meaning that there would be no benefit in taking the acceleration design beyond 86?

Short and simple answer: it stops at 100 :)
