I have a question regarding weight.

Is the ballast weight equal to driver weight?

No, ballast has nothing to do with driver weight.

It is an additional weight added to the car to balance out the high level teams from dominating low tiers (example level 15 team in rookie tier would be too strong, so they run the race with an added weight on their car so other newer teams in rookie have a "somewhat" equal chance of winning).

You can read the in-game help section (left tab, at the very bottom is displayed a "?" symbol, click on this to open the in-game help section) and point 2.6 explains the concept of ballast and how it is calculated.

I understand they are not related. I was curious about whether the 1kg of ballast is equal to 1kg of driver weight...fuel...etc

I think I got what you mean to ask, Luke.

If I get it right, you ask if 1kg of ballast weight is equivalent to 1kg of fuel or to 1kg of driver weight.

I certainly can state that 1kg is 1kg, whatever it is, however that seems to relate to a more profound question as “Do ballast weight affect vehicles the same way as if there were more weight in the fuel tank or more weight in the driver seat (or in another way)?”

In that peculiar case, I cannot answer you. Maybe someone can (a developer could).

I think that ballast due to being over the max level has a much much bigger effect than weight due to fuel or driver (some even say that driver weight is not working right now). Ofc I can't confirm that the effect of 1 kg of ballast is bigger than the effect of 1kg of fuel, but that's my impression.
Some clarification on that would be nice.

Hello,

No, the impact is the same (logically). Simulators just count the kilograms added to the car, doesn’t take in account if it’s fuel, driver’s weight or ballast.

Cool, thanx for the reply. So, driver weight is currently working just fine, despite some posts I've seen claiming otherwise? And also, if I may ask, is there a difference between a female 46 kg driver and a male 51 kg driver? Cause that would be super unfair if the male driver can't recover that disadvantage in some other way...

Based on what I've seen in my Pro level, teams with a ballast of 5kg are tremendously slower than their driver, car (etc) would suggest. They have the best driver which is 51kg, they have the best car (as reported) and, because of their higher level, presumably the best facilities. The 5kg ballast puts them (far) behind teams with 10kg heavier drivers, worse cars (etc) so i was just curious to understand everything properly.

@Jose
Can you properly confirm 1kg = +X.XXXs universally and not +X.XXYs in other circumstances?
Just confirming as it would be surprising :)

By the way I'm sorry but i don't think the comment selected as "Solved" really solved the problem as he misunderstood the question.

I confirm (again :P).

Interesting. Very surprised by that. If the game developer says it is so, it is so. :) where are these female drivers!!
