Hey all, So I finally have a car that is worth being proud over and now I find out that because the percenteges are so high, it effects design on my NEXT years car. I'm only getting 5% at a time.

So my question is, how in the world do the big teams stay on full development cycles year in and year out, if you are capped at making your parts better for the next season?

The game is made that way so one team doesn't domitae every season by having 100% every season. You decided to focus last season on this season's car design and have high % components, so your design for next season will be affected.

You can have a high development when starting with a lower percentage car or a low development when starting with a high percentage car. Trick is to develop somewhere in between to make sure you're still competitive and your able to get to a high percentage car during the first half of the season.

So really the best play is to shoot for 60-70% for the following season?

That's what I've tried so far. Sometimes you can also consider the duration of the season break of the league you're in though. If it's long, then you can afford a low percentage car which you can develop fast during the season break. If it's only 2 or 3 days, that will become harder and then you might want a 60-70% car.

Just try to find a balance for what works for you. There are a lot of "right" ways but it's also about where you want to have your support staff since starting the season with a higer percentage car also means you need more designers to get the car developed further.

Developed a 100% car once but that cured me from doing that again. Certainly since I was lower than lvl8 and that makes developing a car quite harder. :)

Thanks everyone, now I understand the game play a lot better. Downside is next season will be a throw away of sorts building for the next season. Oh well, lesson learned.

remember you can clone parts to catch up during the season if you happen to have a lower developed car due to maxing out the season before.
