Just looking for some guidance on running a team I'm in a league with my mates and I always end up 9th and 10th last

I nearly always make a loss so fighting finances all the time so I can hardly upgrade my hq which seems like the problem to why I seem so far behind them
If anyone can give us a good idea I've tried reading the guides but i i dunno

What are your sponsors? I recommend choosing ones who pay a high fixed amount of cash and little bonus, since you can rely on the fixed part each race. To give better (or more specific) advice I would need to know how much you lose or gain per race and who your current sponsors are?
Upgrading your HQ, especially technology and design together with manufacturing is also crucial as you mentioned.
Since you're in pro, I think, competition will be harder for sure. And it is often just a matter of time, until you have upgraded the important parts of your HQ, before you become competitive there. Which also depends a lot on how high leveled and experienced your fellow managers in pro are.
I wish you all the best for now and enjoy racing.

P.S.: Since you're in a closed league I can't see against whom you're racing and how strong your competition is or if it is more of a wrong strategy problem.

The league I'm in we all started at the same time I think stupidly .mismanaged at the beginning and no paying for it I have just got rid of my high talent driver for a low star to save money on wages and I now have a loss of 200k Ii know im not with the best sponsor at the moment but that will be changing at the next race
