I need a way to tell my dumbass driver not to overtake milimeter before DRS zone and giving my opponent the DRS instead

Best recommendation I have is to use lowest push level.

That's what I do. But it doesn't make much of a difference

We have a 'go faster button'.
Given that, it makes zero sense to not have a 'slow down button'.
A very irritating, as well as completely unrealistic, part of a race simulation which needs a drastic overhaul. Either that or just scrap it, abstract the races and concentrate on the team management, car development and driver training side of the game.
Just don't fall between the two stools and a flawed product in both areas.

Though I do agree, I can just see the races where suddenly everyone hits the slow down button and we have a traffic jam just before the DRS zone.
I'm pretty sure Massa and another driver had something similar happen just after DRS was introduced, they both slowed to a crawl so that the other one didn't get it. A bit like Monza qualifying 😅

Yeah.  That's when F1 had it's NASCAR group qualifying moment.

Well if you think they will all "brake" then you boost, ( someone will). I'm all for a "brake" button, bring it on!

This would had a new strategy when everyone wants to be last

Not much difference then, being first in the peloton at drs is an automatic loss of two or three places under drs. That would be the same. This at least would eliminate one absurdity, the situation where a driver overtakes a back marker just before the zone, only to see the same back marker and another car or two breeze past. No driver would be that stupid in real life and keep his seat in the team. It's ridiculous.
