Parts Drain - unsustainable

The game seems to be requiring a lot more parts lately and its becoming unsustainable to run a 2 car team without major financial investment, take tonight race for example, to repair both cars cost 24 parts, im level 16 (with level 14 manufacturing building, meaning i'm 10 parts short of being able to repair my car and its about this most races, i can get a part or 2 from video & daily log ins but im still losing more parts per day than i get back, my backlog of parts is nearly gone & spending 6-10 tokens per day buying parts is just unsustainable meaning i will have to quit 2 car racing and run in a 1 car league end of season, i brought 10 parts with 8 token this morning whist they were on offer but they'll be gone by end of next race.

Is this not a bit over the top? 
is it like this for everyone?

You can get a parts surplus, but you would have to have built out your manufacturing facility 2 to 3 levels above your design facility. That means you get a maximum of 18 DP if you reach lvl 20 and have upgraded your manufacturing facility to that lvl, too. I know it's a drag, because it should be enough as it is, but you're not the only one struggling with parts at some time or another.

Has the price for parts always been this high? I think in the past i was able to buy more parts for less tokens or am i wrong?

I don't remember the exact numbers, but I recall the top part offers gave you more parts than the tokens you invested.

As John Doe mentioned, a higher Design factory seems to require more parts at the end of the race. I read that somewhere so I developed Manufacturing first for better sustainability.
But indeed it’s quite tricky...

Maybe try to upgrade your Manufacturing with tokens to produce more parts, at the cost of loosing some races.
